GROBOGAN – On Tuesday (07/29/2025), the UNNES GIAT 12 SKM 2025 Community Service Program (KKN) team in Grobogan successfully held an earthquake disaster simulation at SD Negeri 1 Grobogan with the theme “Resilient Schools Ready to Face Earthquakes.” A total of 74 participants, including fifth and sixth-grade students, class advisors, and physical education teachers, actively participated in the activity designed to strengthen preparedness for earthquake disasters.

The program began with a presentation on earthquake phenomena, covering causes, characteristics, and impacts, as well as procedures for handling the situation before, during, and after a disaster occurs. The KKN team delivered the material using interactive methods with engaging visuals and mini-simulations to facilitate student understanding, while also teaching an educational song about earthquake preparedness that is easy to remember and practice.

Students are trained to recognize the alarm sound, understand the evacuation routes marked with special signs, and perform the appropriate self-protection techniques. The highlight of this Resilient School activity was an earthquake simulation with emergency sirens. Students and teachers practiced moving in an orderly manner along the marked evacuation routes to the assembly point in the school field. During the simulation, emphasis was placed on the importance of not panicking, helping friends who were in difficulty, and waiting for instructions from teachers.

The student’s enthusiasm was shown by their active participation in answering questions and carrying out simulation instructions. Some students even asked in-depth questions about how to protect their families when an earthquake occurs at home. Through this program, Muhammad Ainur Rofiq and Fransiska Dwiyandari, as coordinators, accompanied by their team, hope to make a real contribution to improving disaster preparedness at SD Negeri 1 Grobogan.
