Through a strategic academic visit, UNNES chemistry expert Prof. Dr. Nanik Wijayati, M.Si., and her team visited the Department of Chemistry at Universiti Malaya (UM), Malaysia, on Friday, July 17, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The visit focused on coordinating the <em>Implementation of Arrangement<\/em> (IoA) for the <em>Inbound Lecturer<\/em> program and discussing international research collaboration. The UNNES delegation was welcomed by the Head of the Department of Chemistry at Universiti Malaya, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nor Kartini binti Abu Bakar, together with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Norazilawati Muhamad Sarih.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"544\" height=\"726\" src=\"https:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/mipa\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2026\/07\/kunjungan-prodi-kimia-unnes-universiti-malaya-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-20635\" srcset=\"https:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/mipa\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2026\/07\/kunjungan-prodi-kimia-unnes-universiti-malaya-1.jpg 544w, https:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/mipa\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2026\/07\/kunjungan-prodi-kimia-unnes-universiti-malaya-1-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 544px) 100vw, 544px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">The FMIPA UNNES delegation with representatives of the Department of Chemistry at Universiti Malaya.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>The FMIPA UNNES Chemistry Study Program team with representatives of the Department of Chemistry at Universiti Malaya during an academic visit to discuss lecturer exchange programs and strengthen international research collaboration.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prof. Nanik Wijayati emphasized that this cross-border collaboration is not merely intended to fulfil the university\u2019s key performance indicators, but also represents a concrete step toward supporting the achievement of the <em>Sustainable Development Goals<\/em> (SDGs), particularly <strong>SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThis academic visit is highly important for accelerating the achievement of the university\u2019s key performance indicators, particularly in global research collaboration and cross-border lecturer mobility. Through this international network, we are jointly developing a higher education ecosystem capable of addressing various global challenges,\u201d said Prof. Nanik.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Through its collaboration with Universiti Malaya, one of Southeast Asia\u2019s leading universities, FMIPA UNNES aims to increase both the quantity and quality of joint scientific publications in reputable journals. The program also reinforces UNNES\u2019 position as an internationally reputable university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The collaborative initiative between FMIPA UNNES and Universiti Malaya directly contributes to the achievement of three key SDGs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals<\/strong> is implemented through the signing of the IoA document and the strengthening of the <em>Inbound Lecturer<\/em> and <em>Outbound Lecturer<\/em> programs. These initiatives are expected to reinforce the strategic partnership between Indonesia and Malaysia in the development of science and technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>SDG 4: Quality Education<\/strong> is supported through lecturer and chemistry expert exchange programs between Universiti Malaya and UNNES. The program is intended to enrich students\u2019 learning experiences through internationally recognised teaching, academic insights, and educational practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, <strong>SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure<\/strong> is advanced through the initiation of joint research and the improvement of joint scientific publications in reputable journals. This collaboration is expected to generate innovations in materials science and chemistry that provide tangible benefits to society and industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Through this synergy, the FMIPA UNNES Chemistry Study Program is optimistic that it can produce outstanding graduates and scientific works that are not only internationally recognised but also make meaningful contributions to sustainability, environmental conservation, and global progress.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SEMARANG \u2014 Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) continues to strengthen its position as a globally oriented university committed to the sustainable development agenda.
