The video highlights environmental pollution caused by corn plantation waste and aims to increase public awareness of sustainable waste management practices.

In the several-minute-long video, the students showcase the real impacts of corn production waste, such as decomposing stalks and leaves, excessive use of chemical pesticides, and poorly managed post-harvest waste. The visual documentation presents the condition of farmland and nearby water streams that have experienced declining quality due to the accumulation of organic waste and chemical residues.

One of the team members explained that the video was created as an awareness campaign, particularly targeting farmers and younger generations. They emphasized that corn waste actually has significant potential to be reused, such as for compost, animal feed, or even raw materials for handicrafts. With proper management, such waste can reduce environmental pollution while also providing additional economic value.

In addition to field documentation, the video includes brief interviews with local residents who have experienced the effects of pollution, including reduced water quality and unpleasant odors during harvest season. The combination of strong visual storytelling and informative narration makes the message more impactful and accessible to viewers.

This work demonstrates that students are not merely observers but also agents of change. Through digital media, UNNES students seek to promote a balance between agricultural productivity and environmental sustainability for a healthier and more sustainable future.

Semarang – Students of Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) have once again demonstrated their concern for environmental issues through a creative educational video.
