The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES), conducted the undergraduate thesis examination of Imelda Laelan Safina, a student of the Physics Education Study Program, on Thursday, 22 January 2026, from 13.00 WIB until completion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the examination, Imelda presented her research entitled \u201cDevelopment of a Local Wisdom-Based Solar Oven E-Module on Renewable Energy Topics to Enhance Students\u2019 Critical and Creative Thinking Skills.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The examination involved an international external examiner, Assistant Prof. Dr. Hardimah bt Hj. Mohd. Said from Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), Brunei Darussalam, and an internal examiner, Dr. Bambang Subali, M.Pd. from Universitas Negeri Semarang. The presence of an international examiner provided a global academic perspective on the quality and contribution of the student\u2019s research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Assist. Prof. Dr. Hardimah bt Hj. Mohd. Said expressed strong appreciation for the research and stated that the quality of the study was almost comparable to research conducted at the master\u2019s level. She recommended strengthening the discussion section by incorporating more relevant, up-to-date literature to reinforce the research findings better. She also suggested providing a more detailed justification for selecting Lumpia Semarang<\/em> as a flagship local wisdom context in the development of the solar oven e-module.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, Dr. Hardimah provided strategic recommendations for Imelda\u2019s future master’s-level research. She suggested conducting a tiered experimental study with comparative designs involving instructional models, learning modules, and local wisdom contexts to identify more precisely which factors play the most significant role in enhancing students\u2019 critical and creative thinking skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, Dr. Bambang Subali, M.Pd., highlighted that students’ learning outcomes were still at a moderate level and required further explanation of the contributing factors. He also emphasized the importance of strengthening the research’s novelty, particularly the innovative contribution of the local wisdom-based e-module in renewable energy learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This thesis examination reflects the commitment of the Physics Education Study Program at FMIPA UNNES to encouraging students to conduct innovative research that integrates science, technology, and local wisdom.
