Pollution from batik waste is still a major issue in Indonesia, particularly in Semarang. Carelessly discarded batik trash can contribute to the demise of marine life as well as the devastation of river biota.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES), rambutan is one of the fruits that is extensively cultivated near residential areas. This is closely related to the amount of waste rambutan skin is generated. One issue that hasn’t been overcome yet is the significant volume of rambutan skin waste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Using an abundance of rambutan skin waste, students from Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) developed a solution to the concerns mentioned above.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rambutan skin waste has the potential to be turned into adsorbents that can be used to reduce liquid waste in the environment since it contains numerous major components, including 24% cellulose and 35% lignin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Azra Putri Nurhaliza (Biology 2021), Nevta Fatikha Ariyani (Biology 2021), Astrid Farmayati (Biology 2021), Resah Aprianti (Chemical Engineering 2021), and Kakalia Putri Auralita (Chemical Engineering 2021) participated in the project under the guidance of FMIPA UNNES lecturer Mrs. Talitha Widiatningrum, M.Si., Ph.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The PKM-RE team has been working on the test phase up until this point, but at a basic level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The PKM team will continue their efforts in the hopes that they may develop into a substitute for reducing the water pollution brought on by batik waste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
