On Friday, July 21, 2023, Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) was given the 2023 Jawametric UNS award. Because UNNES was thought to have made a significant contribution to the preservation of Javanese culture, it was given the award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Javanese Language and Literature Education study program and the Javanese Literature Study Program both exist, which academically recognizes this contribution. In terms of non-academic considerations, UNNES makes a contribution to the preservation of Javanese culture through a variety of activities, including shadow puppet shows, ketoprak, wayang orang, and others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr. Ngabiyanto, M.Sc., Center for Excellence in Javanology Innovation, Yasadapira, R. Ng Hall, UNS, Surakarta’s Deputy Chancellor for Research, Innovation, and Information Systems, accepted the honor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He claimed that “this award confirms UNNES as a conservation-minded university that is dedicated to preserving Javanese culture.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The UNS ranks global watchers and guardians of Javanese culture through the Jawametric Award. The nine indicators used to determine rankings include institutional commitment, study of Javanese culture, manuscript collecting, and use of the Javanese language.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
