The Student Organization Capacity Building Program (PPK Ormawa) team from BEM FMIPA UNNES collaborated with local communities, government bodies, and corporate partners to conduct a tree-planting action in Peron Village, Limbangan District, Kendal Regency, on Saturday, August 29, 2026. This collaborative effort aimed to strengthen environmental conservation and restore the hydrological functions of the upper Bodri Watershed (DAS Bodri<\/em>), a high-priority conservation zone. The greening initiative engaged 120 FMIPA UNNES freshmen, 100 residents of Peron Village, and 50 representatives from PT Mas Arya Indonesia and PT Silueta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was attended by UNNES leaders and academics, including the Dean of FMIPA UNNES Prof. Dr. Edy Cahyono, M.Si., Vice Dean for Business, Research, and Cooperation Prof. Dr. Sutikno, S.T., M.T., Teguh Prihanto, S.T., M.T. from the UNNES Conservation Sub-directorate, supervising lecturer Abdul Jabbar, M.Ling., and Trida Ridho Fariz, M.Sc. from the FMIPA Conservation and SDGs Unit. Government support was highlighted by Pujiharini, S.Hut., M.P. (Head of Watershed Management, Rehabilitation, and Natural Resources Conservation at DLHK Central Java) and Ignatius Hidayat Edhi Nugroho, S.Kom., M.A. (Head of Pollution and Environmental Damage Control at DLH Kendal). A total of 200 durian, 200 mahogany, and 200 avocado seedlings donated through PT Mas Arya Indonesia’s CSR\u2014led by Mr. Waluyo\u2014alongside 1,000 vetiver grass plants were planted along gully slopes to control soil erosion and sedimentation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This reforestation and watershed conservation program directly advances three key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). First, the initiative supports Life on Land (SDG 15) by planting vegetation and stabilizing soil structures to prevent land degradation. Second, it contributes to Climate Action (SDG 13) by increasing water infiltration, reducing surface runoff, and mitigating environmental disaster risks in headwater regions. Finally, the project demonstrates Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17) through a vibrant quadruple helix synergy involving academia, local government, corporate CSR programs, and grassroots communities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
