The collective movement of new 2026 batch students from the Faculty of Sports Science (FIK) at Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) marked a vibrant start to the 2026 National Sports Day (HAORNAS) commemoration held in early September 2026. Through a plogging<\/em> activity\u2014jogging while picking up trash\u2014students actively exercised while maintaining the cleanliness of the surrounding campus environment. This unique action combining physical fitness with environmental stewardship not only encourages new students to maintain physical health but also serves as a momentum to foster a sense of togetherness, discipline, and social responsibility from the very beginning of their journey as part of the FIK UNNES family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This blend of sportsmanship and social action received enthusiastic responses from participants along the activity route. A representative of the new FIK UNNES students expressed enthusiasm for this combined physical and environmental movement. \u201cThis plogging<\/em> activity has given us a truly fresh experience as new students. The spirit of sportsmanship turns out to be more than just pursuing physical fitness on the field; it can also be realized through tangible actions that directly benefit the community and campus cleanliness. We feel proud to start our university journey by making a real contribution,\u201d the representative remarked during the cleanup drive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This HAORNAS plogging<\/em> action directly supports three key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). First, the initiative promotes Good Health and Well-being (SDG 3) through physical activities that encourage students to adopt active and fit lifestyles. Second, the program contributes to Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG 11) by maintaining the cleanliness, aesthetics, and comfort of the campus environment and surrounding areas. Finally, this trash-collecting drive aligns with Responsible Consumption and Production (SDG 12) by fostering young people’s awareness regarding proper waste management and environmental sustainability.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
