The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at Universitas Negeri Semarang (FISIP UNNES) collaborated with Universiti Malaya to promote social equality for persons with disabilities through an international event held on Tuesday, May 19, 2026. The collaboration was carried out through the International Symposium on Inclusive Education Sustainability at the Faculty of Education, Universiti Malaya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event served as a cross-national academic forum involving lecturers and students from both institutions to discuss challenges and opportunities in improving access and social participation for persons with disabilities. The discussion emphasized the importance of creating inclusive and non-discriminatory social environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the symposium, the FISIP UNNES team presented research on the implementation of inclusive education and its role in shaping students\u2019 civic intelligence. \u201cInclusive education not only provides access but also fosters empathy, solidarity, and respect for diversity,\u201d was one of the key points highlighted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The discussion also underlined that achieving social equality goes beyond providing access to services and requires a shift in societal perspectives toward vulnerable groups. \u201cIt is crucial to create social spaces that offer equal opportunities so that persons with disabilities can actively participate in society,\u201d was emphasized during the forum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This collaboration strengthens international academic networking between UNNES and Universiti Malaya while opening opportunities for joint research on social and humanitarian issues. Student participation in the event also enhances global awareness of inclusivity and social justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
