The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) conducted a biopore revitalization and planting activity as part of its commitment to strengthening environmental conservation culture within the campus. The program involved approximately 150 students from the Social Studies Education program as part of practice-based learning in the Conservation Education course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The activity began with a group exercise session attended by students, lecturers, and organizers at the courtyard of Building C8. Following this, participants collaboratively created biopore holes using specialized tools. The participants were divided into groups to ensure efficient and well-distributed implementation across designated areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the activity, students installed around 50 biopore holes across several strategic locations within the faculty area, including Buildings C2, C5, C6, and C8. The high level of enthusiasm was evident through active teamwork and collaboration demonstrated by the participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The faculty emphasized that this initiative is expected to generate positive environmental impacts, particularly in improving water absorption, reducing puddles during rainfall, and preventing flooding. Moreover, the activity serves as a contextual learning experience, enabling students to better understand sustainable environmental management practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a broader context, this biopore revitalization initiative contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation) through improved water infiltration, SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) through better campus environmental management, and SDG 13 (Climate Action) by supporting flood mitigation and sustainable environmental practices.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
