New students of the Faculty of Sport Science, Universitas Negeri Semarang (FIK UNNES) for the 2025\/2026 academic year demonstrated their environmental stewardship through a tree-planting activity held in Dukuh Sironjang, RT 01\/RW 01, Pakintelan Village, Gunungpati District, Semarang.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This activity is part of the Introduction to Campus Life for New Students program, which emphasizes conservation values \u200b\u200bas a hallmark of UNNES. The new students not only learn academics but are also encouraged to care for the environment from the very beginning of their studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
More than 200 tree seedlings of various species were planted on the slopes of Gunungpati, known as a buffer zone for the Semarang city’s ecosystem. The planting was carried out collaboratively by the new students, accompanied by the committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“This is not merely symbolic. We want students to experience firsthand the importance of protecting the environment, especially in areas prone to landslides and clean water crises like this,” said Donny Wira Yudha, Ph.D., Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs at FIK UNNES.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
