The Tuesday Legen Workshop, organized by Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES), is a concrete manifestation of efforts to achieve gender equality. This workshop has been running since 2008 and is part of UNNES’s efforts to develop culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Coordinator of the Tuesday Legen Event Division, Dr. Dhoni Zustiyantoro, explained that gender equality is realized in the selection of speakers and moderators for each forum. He stated that this is not easy due to the dominance of men in public discourse and dialogue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The presence of women is essential to reduce bias in knowledge, ensuring that knowledge production is not centered on men,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dhoni also acknowledged that Javanese culture is often called a “patriarchal culture” because many aspects of social and cultural life are centered on men. He stated that Tuesday Legen was held again after the Covid-19 pandemic in early 2020. The forum was on hiatus for about three years and will not resume until early 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This effort aligns with SDG 4 regarding gender equality. As a higher education institution, UNNES does not discriminate based on gender, ethnicity, religion, or race in its knowledge production.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
