Konservasi Kopi Gunung Ungaran, Unnes Dampingi Petani Ngesrepbalong

Pusat Pemberdayaan Masyarakat Desa Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) melakukan pendampingan pada masyarakat petani kopi di desa Ngesrepbalong, kecamatan Limbangan, Kendal.

Desa Ngesrepbalong berada di lereng Gunung Ungaran, dimana desa ini memiliki potensi tinggi sebagai desa penghasil kopi. Namun, budidaya kopi di desa ini masih belum dilakukan secara optimal oleh masyarakat.

Masyarakat di daerah dataran tinggi ini banyak yang membudidayakan kopi baik jenis robusta maupun arabika. Namun, masih banyak permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh para petani kopi disana, antara lain ialah rendahnya produktivitas, rendahnya harga jual, serta kurangnya kesadaran dan pengetahuan masyarakat terkait dengan teknik budidaya tanaman kopi.

Melihat permasalahan tersebut, PT Indonesia Power Semarang PGU bekerja sama dengan Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) menyelenggarakan pemberdayaan masyarakat yang bertajuk Konservasi Kopi Gunung Ungaran untuk Para Petani Kopi di Ngesrepbalong.

Ketua Pusat Pemberdayaan Masyarakat Desa UNNES, Nana Kariada Tri Martuti menjelaskan bahwa Konservasi Kopi Gunung Ungaran diselenggarakan guna melestarikan keberadaan para petani kopi dan jasa lingkungan sumber air di Gunung Ungaran. Kegiatan ini juga tidak semata-mata hanya berorientasi ekonomi tetapi juga untuk menjaga kawasan sumber resapan air.

Dalam keterangan tertulis pada Jumat (27/8), Nana juga menyampaikan bahwa kegiatan ini dilakukan dengan memberi pelatihan teknik budidaya, pengolahan pasca panen kopi, dan bantuan fasilitas Coffee Dryer Dome (Power Drying Dome) untuk penjemuran kopi. Pelatihan tersebut diberikan guna mendukung ekonomi kreatif pada sektor kopi.

Rendahnya harga penjualan kopi di desa tersebut membuat para petani beralih dan menanam pohon lain, seperti sengon. Untuk itu, dengan adanya program ini maka diharapkan akan dimanfaatkan secara maksimal oleh masyarakat serta berkelanjutan.

Di sisi lain, Haldi Rauf selaku Manajer Administrasi PT Indonesia Power Semarang PGU menyampaikan bahwa PT Indonesia Power sangat mendukung kegiatan ekonomi dan isu-isu lingkungan di sekitar masyarakat.

“Meskipun di luar ring 1 (dari lokasi perusahaan), kami memiliki komitmen untuk memberikan sesuatu yang bermanfaat untuk masyarakat sekitar kami. Terlebih lagi desa Ngesrepbalong memiliki potensi yang sangat besar untuk bisa dikembangkan lagi. Saya juga berharap produk kopi desa Ngesrepbalong dapat dikenal dan dijual di tingkat Jawa Tengah hingga internasional,” jelasnya.

Kepala Desa Ngesrepbalong, Riyono sangat mengapresiasi kegiatan pendampingan yang dilakukan oleh UNNES dan PT Indonesia Power PGU di wilayahnya.

“Tentu saja kami sangat berterima kasih atas perhatian dan pendampingan dari UNNES dan PT Indonesia Power. Di mana beberapa tahun ini selalu melakukan kegiatan pemberdayaan untuk masyarakat kami. Saya juga berharap masyarakat dapat memanfaatkan program yang diberikan dengan baik,” ucapnya.
