Suasana riang dan antusias menyelimuti halaman SD Negeri Ngesrepbalong 1, Kecamatan Limbangan, Kabupaten Kendal, saat para siswa kelas 5 dan 6 mengikuti sosialisasi mitigasi bencana gunung meletus. Kegiatan ini dikemas kreatif melalui eksperimen replika letusan gunung berapi, dipandu mahasiswa KKN Giat 12 UNNES Desa Ngesrepbalong dalam rangka program Desa Tangguh Bencana (Destana).

Program yang digelar baru-baru ini berlangsung sejak pagi hingga siang hari. Acara diawali dengan pembukaan oleh Kepala SD Negeri Ngesrepbalong 1, Jundarningsih, dilanjutkan perkenalan mahasiswa KKN Giat 12 serta ice breaking agar siswa lebih bersemangat.

Pada sesi pertama, mahasiswa memberikan materi pengenalan gunung berapi, jenis bencana alam, hingga simbol Kawasan Rawan Bencana (KRB). Tidak hanya mendengarkan penjelasan, siswa juga diajak membuat replika gunung dari bubur kertas, kemudian menghiasinya sesuai kreativitas masing-masing.

Setelah istirahat, sesi kedua dilanjutkan dengan penjelasan proses terjadinya erupsi, tingkat status gunung berapi, dan langkah-langkah mitigasi sebelum, saat, dan sesudah bencana. Tayangan video edukasi turut memperkuat pemahaman siswa.

Puncak kegiatan sekaligus yang paling ditunggu adalah eksperimen letusan gunung berapi menggunakan campuran soda kue, cuka, dan pewarna akrilik. Ketika “lava” merah menyembur dari replika gunung, sorak kegembiraan pun pecah dari para siswa.

“Kegiatan ini sangat bermanfaat karena anak-anak belajar teori sekaligus praktik. Apalagi sekolah kami berada di kaki Gunung Ungaran, sehingga pengetahuan mitigasi ini menjadi bekal penting bagi mereka,” ujar Kepala SD Negeri Ngesrepbalong 1, Jundarningsih.

Salah satu siswa kelas 6, Imran, juga mengaku senang. “Seru banget! Bikin gunung sendiri terus lihat meletus. Jadi tahu harus lari ke mana kalau ada bencana,” tuturnya.

Perwakilan mahasiswa KKN Giat 12, Muhammad Miftahul Huda, menyampaikan bahwa kegiatan ini merupakan bentuk kepedulian mahasiswa terhadap pendidikan kebencanaan di wilayah rawan bencana. “Kami ingin siswa-siswi punya keterampilan dasar menghadapi bencana agar siap dan tidak panik jika terjadi,” jelasnya.

Dengan posisi Desa Ngesrepbalong yang berada di lereng Gunung Ungaran, kegiatan ini diharapkan mampu menumbuhkan kesadaran sejak dini serta menjadikan siswa sebagai agen penyebar informasi mitigasi bencana di keluarga dan masyarakat. Kegiatan ditutup dengan penuh keceriaan. Selain memberikan pengalaman belajar yang menyenangkan, program ini menjadi langkah nyata mahasiswa Unnes dalam mendukung terciptanya masyarakat tangguh bencana.
