Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) memperluas jaringan kerja samanya dengan berbagai institusi internasional. Salah satunya dilakukan dengan me-launching Zheng He College hasil kolaborasi dengan Jiangsu Vocational Institute of Commerce (JVIC) China.

Kolaborasi ini dinilai sebagai langkah penting untuk memperkuat pendidikan lintas budaya dan pertukaran akademik.

Wakil Rektor Bidang Kerjasama, Bisnis & Hubungan Internasional UNNES, Prof. Dr. Nur Qudus, MT, IPM menjelaskan bahwa kolaborasi ini bagian dari proses interaksi budaya yang memperkaya pengalaman mahasiswa dan memperkuat hubungan bilateral antara kedua negara.

“Kerja sama antara UNNES dan JVIC membawa manfaat baik, khususnya dalam memperkenalkan budaya dan pendidikan Bahasa Mandarin. Sebanyak 38 mahasiswa asal Tiongkok selama seminggu mengikuti pelatihan soft skill seperti membatik dan berkenalan dengan budaya Jawa Tengah,” jelasnya saat diwawancarai di Ruang Senat Rektorat UNNES, Kota Semarang, Selasa (15/10/2024).

Kepala Kerjasama dan Humas Kemdikbudristek, Yayat Hendayana, S.S., M.Si menekankan pentingnya dukungan terhadap inisiatif perguruan tinggi dalam memperluas kemitraan internasional.

“Kami mendukung perguruan tinggi negeri dalam menjalin kemitraan dengan luar negeri. Saat ini, banyak kampus fokus pada mitra dari negara-negara Barat, namun langkah UNNES yang menjalin kerja sama dengan negara-negara Asia Timur, seperti Tiongkok, Jepang, dan Korea, membuka peluang baru. Agar kolaborasi ini tidak hanya terbatas pada pertukaran mahasiswa, tetapi juga melibatkan organisasi, pemerintah, dan dunia industri. Hal ini akan memperkuat kualitas perguruan tinggi di Indonesia,” tegasnya.

Terdapat 439 dokumen kerja sama yang diinisiasi oleh 179 perguruan tinggi, termasuk UNNES. Peluncuran kerja sama ini menjadi implementasi pertama dalam konteks government to government yang kemudian ditindaklanjuti oleh perguruan tinggi dengan mitra strategis mereka.

Disisi lain President JVIC Ms. Wang Zhi Feng berharap agar kerja sama ini membawa manfaat besar bagi kedua belah pihak.

“Kami berharap kolaborasi ini mampu meningkatkan keterampilan mahasiswa sesuai dengan bidang kerja sama, serta memberikan dampak positif bagi pengembangan pendidikan dan budaya di kedua negara,” harapnya.

Acara grand launching ini dihadiri oleh Wakil Rektor Bidang Kerjasama, Prof. Dr. Nur Qudus, MT, IPM, President JVIC Ms. Wang Zhi Feng, dan Kepala Kerjasama Dikti Ristek Yayat Hendayana, serta dekan seluruh fakultas. Turut hadir juga Ms. Loo Hui Ann, Managing Director dari ICCCM dan ITEA.
