Fakultas Bahasa dan Seni (FBS) Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) melaksanakan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat luar negeri bertema “Local and Global Aesthetics: Integrating Traditional Japanese and Javanese Dance Elements” di Komaki International Association (KIA), Jepang pada Sabtu (28/6/2025).

Kegiatan ini dipimpin oleh Usrek Tani Utina, dosen Program Studi Pendidikan Seni Tari, bersama tim yang terdiri dari Heni Hernawati, Setyani Wardhaningtyas, dan Dwi Puji Asrini (Pendidikan Bahasa Jepang), serta Siti Aesijah (Pendidikan Seni Musik). Mereka hadir mewakili FBS UNNES berdasarkan surat tugas resmi dari Dekan, dalam upaya memperkuat kerja sama lintas negara melalui pelatihan budaya dan seni.

Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan sebagai respons atas tantangan globalisasi yang mendorong perlunya pelestarian nilai-nilai lokal di tengah arus budaya global. Melalui pelatihan tari Jawa gaya Surakarta, tim FBS UNNES memperkenalkan filosofi dan estetika gerak tari tradisional Indonesia yang sarat nilai spiritual dan pendidikan karakter.

Pelatihan disambut antusias oleh peserta dari berbagai kalangan. Mereka dikenalkan pada ragam gerak dasar tari Jawa serta filosofi yang menyertainya. Salah satu sajian utama adalah pertunjukan Tari Golek Mugirahayu, yang ditampilkan untuk memperkuat pemahaman peserta terhadap konsep sikap dan ekspresi dalam tari Jawa.

Peserta pelatihan mencatat adanya kemiripan nilai antara tari Jawa dengan seni Kabuki dari Jepang, khususnya dalam hal makna gerak, kedalaman rasa, dan kedisiplinan latihan. Dalam suasana yang serius dan penuh ketertarikan, mereka menirukan setiap gerakan dengan seksama.

Acara ini dibuka dan ditutup oleh Tomiko Terakawa, anggota KIA sekaligus penari Kabuki. Dalam sambutannya, ia menyampaikan bahwa kegiatan ini memberi kontribusi besar dalam memperkaya perspektif lintas budaya melalui pendekatan artistik. Ia juga menyoroti tiga nilai penting dari pelatihan ini:

  1. Harmoni dan Keselarasan (estetika rasa) – gerakan tari yang mengajarkan keseimbangan antara tubuh, irama, dan rasa, relevan sebagai media pengembangan kesadaran diri (mindfulness).
  2. Simbolisme dan Makna Filosofis – gerakan tari yang sarat nilai spiritual dan etika, mampu menjadi jembatan pemahaman budaya.
  3. Disiplin dan Ketekunan (etos latihan) – metode latihan yang terstruktur menjadi fondasi pendidikan karakter, sejalan dengan prinsip-prinsip Kabuki.

Kegiatan ini juga mendukung pencapaian Tujuan Pembangunan Berkelanjutan (SDGs), khususnya poin 4 (Pendidikan Berkualitas), poin 11 (Kota dan Komunitas Berkelanjutan), dan poin 17 (Kemitraan untuk Mencapai Tujuan).

Diskusi interaktif yang berlangsung di akhir kegiatan semakin mempererat pemahaman peserta terhadap budaya Jawa dan Indonesia secara umum. Peserta mengaku mendapat pengalaman berharga yang mendorong minat mereka untuk mempelajari seni tradisional Indonesia secara lebih dalam.

Melihat antusiasme peserta, FBS UNNES berharap kegiatan ini dapat dilanjutkan dalam bentuk kerja sama yang berkelanjutan, baik di bidang seni maupun bidang pendidikan dan kebudayaan lainnya.
