The event took place on Monday, October 26, 2026, at the FT UNNES Dean’s Office, Sekaran Campus, Gunungpati, Semarang.

The discussion was part of the Inbound Visiting Lecturer Program, featuring three UMPSA academics: Assoc. Their involvement created opportunities to examine curriculum development from institutional, academic, and educational perspectives.

The program continued with a session entitled “Collaborative Dialogue on Sustainable Curriculum Development in Higher Education.” This dialogue focused on exchanging perspectives on curriculum development that incorporates sustainability principles while responding to evolving technological advancements and the competencies expected of university graduates.

Sustainable curriculum development is particularly relevant to engineering education, where graduates are expected not only to demonstrate professional and technical competencies but also to understand the broader implications of technological applications for society, the environment, and sustainable development.

The discussions provided FT UNNES with opportunities to gain international perspectives on curriculum design and educational development. The exchange of ideas may also serve as valuable input for future curriculum evaluation and improvement across its study programs.

The event supports SDG 4 (Quality Education) by encouraging higher education practices that incorporate sustainable development principles.
