{"id":1790,"date":"2016-06-07T09:25:02","date_gmt":"2016-06-07T02:25:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ft.unnes.ac.id\/?p=1790"},"modified":"2016-06-07T09:25:02","modified_gmt":"2016-06-07T02:25:02","slug":"research-training-fellowship-for-developing-country-scientists-rtf-dcs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/ft\/2016\/06\/07\/research-training-fellowship-for-developing-country-scientists-rtf-dcs\/","title":{"rendered":"Research Training Fellowship for Developing Country Scientists (RTF-DCS)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Call for applications for 2016 \u2013 2017<\/p>\n<p><strong>Research Training Fellowship for Developing Country Scientists (RTF-DCS)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Centre for Science and Technology of the Non-Aligned and Other Developing Countries\u00a0(NAM S&amp;T Centre) is presently implementing a Fellowship programme titled \u2018Research Training\u00a0Fellowship for Developing Country Scientists (RTF-DCS) to provide opportunity to young\u00a0researchers of the developing countries for their capacity building in science and technology\u00a0through their affiliation with premier academic and research institutions in India to carry out\u00a0short-term research work.<\/p>\n<p>The RTF-DCS programme has been sponsored by the Government of India, Department of\u00a0Science &amp; Technology (DST), Ministry of Science &amp; Technology. The RTF-DCS programme that\u00a0was initiated in 2012-2013, was successfully implemented in the last four years with the\u00a0selected scientists having completed their research work in the respective host institutions in\u00a0India. Considering the persistently high demand from the researchers from developing\u00a0countries and the keen interest shown by the Indian research institutions in implementing this\u00a0programme, the number of Fellowships was increased from 20 to 50 per year with effect from\u00a02014-2015. In the fifth year of implementation of the RTF-DCS scheme, the NAM S&amp;T Centre\u00a0invites applications from the eligible researchers of the developing countries for the Fellowship\u00a0for the financial year 2016-2017 (1st April 2016 to 31st March 2017).<\/p>\n<p>The salient features of the RTF-DCS programme as under:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Of Fellowship<\/strong>: 50<\/li>\n<li><strong>Duration of Fellowship<\/strong>: The Fellowship is for a period of six months. Therefore, the\u00a0interested applicants must be absolutely certain about thier availability for six months, if\u00a0selected for this Fellowship.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Broad Disciplines<\/strong>, in which Felloeship are available: Agricultural Sciences; Biological\u00a0and Medical Sciences; Chemical Sciences; Physical Sciences and Mathematics; Earth\u00a0sciences; Engineering Sciences; Materials, Minerals and Metallurgy: and Multi-diciplinary &amp; Other areas.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Eligibility Conditions<\/strong>: Scientist\/researchers from any developing country (except India)\u00a0below 40 years of age (as on 1st January 2016) and possessing at least a Post Graduate\u00a0Degree in any Natural Science subject or an equivalent degree in Technology \/\u00a0Engineering \/ Medicine \/ allied disciplines.<\/li>\n<li>Financial Terms: Full financial assistance to the fellows, including (a) round trip\u00a0international airfare by excursion\/economy class, (b) a monthly Fellowship amount of\u00a0Indian Rupees (INR) 35.000 (about US$ 525 at the current exchange rate, non-taxable)\u00a0to cover accommodation, meals and other miscellaneous expenses and (c) a one-time\u00a0grant of INR 30.000 (about US$ 450) for research contingency and domestic travel,\u00a0including airport transfers, visiting research institutions, attending sciencetific events\u00a0and field trips within India, subject to the approval of the research supervisor. The India\u00a0host institutions will also be suitably compensated for their services for implementation\u00a0of the programme.<\/li>\n<li>Detailed guidelines of the Fellowship scheme are given in the attached announcement\u00a0brochure.<\/li>\n<li>It is advisable for an applicant to make a prior contact with a concerned India scientist or\u00a0an institution in India where work is in progress in the area of interest to the applicant,\u00a0and obtain consent that he\/she, if selected, will be accepted to work in the institution\u00a0on the proposed research project. A copy of the consent letter, if available, should be\u00a0enclosed with the application.<\/li>\n<li>A suggestive list of Indian academic and research institutions has been enclosed with\u00a0the announcement, but the applicant is free to contact any other institutions in India\u00a0about which information may gathered either through internet search or other means.<\/li>\n<li>Application should be submitted to the NAM S&amp;T Centre in the prescribed format,\u00a0enclosed with the brochure.
