Semarang \u2013 Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) held the 2026 Pancasila Day Commemoration Ceremony on Monday, 1 June 2026, at 7:00 a.m. WIB at the FISIP UNNES Field. The ceremony was attended by lecturers, educational staff, and students from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), and the Faculty of Law (FH). The ceremony was officiated by the Rector of UNNES, Prof. Dr. S. Martono, M.Si., who served as the ceremony inspector. Members of the FISIP Scout Training Unit and the Symphony FIS Choir served as the ceremony officials and choir performers during the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carrying the theme \u201cPancasila: The Unifying Force of the Nation, the Foundation of World Peace,\u201d the event served as an important moment to reflect on the strategic role of Pancasila as the philosophical foundation of the Indonesian state and as a moral compass for addressing global challenges. In his address, the Rector delivered the official speech of the Head of the Agency for Pancasila Ideology Education (BPIP), emphasizing that Pancasila remains the nation\u2019s \u201cguiding star\u201d in preserving unity amid diversity and navigating the uncertainties of an increasingly complex world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The speech highlighted Indonesia\u2019s constitutional responsibility to contribute to a world order based on freedom, lasting peace, and social justice. The values of deliberation, humanity, and unity embodied in Pancasila continue to serve as the foundation of Indonesia\u2019s foreign policy and global engagement, including efforts in conflict resolution, international peacekeeping missions, and the promotion of justice for all people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Rector also encouraged all members of the academic community, particularly the younger generation, to embrace Pancasila as a living ideology that is not merely understood in theory but practiced in everyday life. He stressed the importance of fostering tolerance, rejecting all forms of radicalism and intolerance, and upholding social justice in social, national, and civic life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ceremony reflects UNNES\u2019s commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) through the strengthening of character education, civic values, and national awareness among young people. In addition, the event contributes to SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) by promoting a culture of peace, tolerance, democracy, and the development of responsible and ethical citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through the commemoration of Pancasila Day 2026, UNNES reaffirmed its role as a higher education institution that not only excels in the advancement of knowledge but also actively fosters national character and peace as essential foundations for a progressive and sustainable Indonesia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
