The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of Universitas Negeri Semarang (FISIP UNNES) continues to expand its international academic network through the International Symposium on the Sustainability of Inclusive Education (SKPIA), held on Tuesday, 19 May 2026, at The Cube Room, Faculty of Education, Universiti Malaya, Malaysia. The event was part of a collaborative research initiative between FISIP UNNES and the Faculty of Education, Universiti Malaya, involving students and academics from both institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the symposium, the FISIP UNNES research team presented a study entitled \u201cHow the Implementation of Inclusive Education Shapes Students\u2019 Civic Intelligence.\u201d The presentation highlighted the important role of inclusive education in developing students\u2019 civic intelligence through the cultivation of empathy, tolerance, social solidarity, and respect for diversity within educational environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The symposium brought together academics from both universities, with Universiti Malaya represented by Fonny Dameaty Hutagalung. Meanwhile, the UNNES delegation consisted of Masrukhi, Tutik Wijayanti, Didi Pramono, Moh. Farizqo Irvan, and Hendri Irawan. This collaboration represents a strategic effort to strengthen international cooperation in the fields of education and social research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As one of the world\u2019s leading universities, ranked 58th in the QS World University Rankings, Universiti Malaya serves as an important partner for FISIP UNNES in enhancing research quality and expanding global academic engagement. The participation of students in this forum also provided valuable international academic exposure and broadened their perspectives on inclusive education and sustainable social development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The symposium reflects the commitment of both institutions to supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4: Quality Education, through the promotion of inclusive, equitable, and high-quality education. Furthermore, the international research collaboration between the two universities contributes to Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals by strengthening global academic partnerships aimed at advancing sustainable knowledge and community development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
