Bambang Suranggono, expressed appreciation for the initiative. \u201cThis exhibition is held to commemorate 80 years of the Semarang battle and to raise public awareness of history, encouraging citizens to take part in preserving the city\u2019s collective memory,\u201d Bambang said during the exhibition\u2019s opening ceremony on Thursday (October 9, 2025).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Coordinator of the History Department at UNNES, Mukhamad Shokheh, Ph.D., emphasized the exhibition\u2019s role in preserving intergenerational memory. \u201cThis exhibition serves as a medium to safeguard memories of the past\u2014a bridge connecting the older and younger generations,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Held at Rumah Po-Han Gallery in the Old Town area of Semarang, the exhibition showcases 18 editions of historical newspapers, including 15 issues of <em>Warta Indonesia<\/em> and 3 issues of <em>Merdeka.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/fisip\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2025\/10\/IMG-20251011-WA0000-1-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15767\" srcset=\"https:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/fisip\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2025\/10\/IMG-20251011-WA0000-1-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/fisip\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2025\/10\/IMG-20251011-WA0000-1-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/fisip\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2025\/10\/IMG-20251011-WA0000-1-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/fisip\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2025\/10\/IMG-20251011-WA0000-1-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/fisip\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2025\/10\/IMG-20251011-WA0000-1.jpg 1600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Open to the public, the exhibition runs for eight days, from October 9 to 17, 2025. Alongside the main display, several supporting activities are also featured.
