SEMARANG, August 19, 2026 \u2013 The Faculty of Education and Psychology (FIPP) of Semarang State University (UNNES) successfully held a Public Lecture and Orientation for New Postgraduate Students for the 2026\/2027 academic year in the Dean’s Building Hall, 3rd Floor, Wednesday (19\/8\/2026).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carrying the theme “Utilizing AI for Efficient, Quality, and Ethical Publications in Accelerating Postgraduate Student Graduation,” this event is an important momentum for new and existing students to align themselves with digital technology advancements without neglecting academic integrity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This activity was attended by hundreds of students from various strategic study programs, including Masters in Guidance and Counseling (BK), Masters in Non-Formal Education (PNF), Masters in Curriculum Development, Masters in Early Childhood Education (PAUD), Doctoral Guidance and Counseling, and Counselor Professional Education (PPK).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Sugihartono, S.Pd., in his report said that this forum was specifically designed to provide motivation and enlightenment for postgraduate students so they are able to navigate the challenges of studying in the era of artificial intelligence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We hope that this public lecture will inspire new enthusiasm so that students can complete their studies smoothly and with great success,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Officially opening the event, Deputy Dean II of FIPP UNNES, Kusnarto Kurniawan, S.Pd., M.Pd., Kons., emphasized the importance of technology adaptation in line with the latest motto of FIPP UNNES, namely “Smart with Integrity”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He encouraged students to maximize campus facilities, including the House of Knowledge, to support research productivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The use of AI should lead to accelerated graduation. However, learning comfort must be accompanied by punctuality. FIPP is a place to provide reinforcement so students can quickly achieve,” Kusnarto emphasized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The core session featured three cross-disciplinary experts. Dr. Muslikah, S.Pd., M.Pd., Coordinator of the Counselor Professional Education (PPK) Study Program at the Faculty of Education and Training (FIPP) at UNNES and an expert in School and Peer Counseling, provided motivational feedback on graduation strategies. She emphasized that graduation must be designed through a clear life roadmap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Don’t wait for motivation or the mood, because moods are created, not waited for. Avoid the NATO (No Action Talk Only), NAPO (No Action Plan Only), and NADO (No Action Dream Only) phenomena. The key is action,” said Dr. Muslikah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Muslikah also led a \u201cSelf-Proclamation\u201d to express her commitment to completing her studies on time with full responsibility and integrity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From a global technology perspective, Arda Yunianta, Ph.D., an Associate Professor from King Abdulaziz University, Saudi Arabia, outlined the latest developments in AI technology in education. This expert in machine learning and artificial intelligence reminded us that AI is merely a tool.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“AI is not a substitute. We still need a human touch and final verification from ourselves as researchers. Be wary of AI hallucinations; specific prompting is key to achieving high-quality and ethical results,” explained Arda, who is also a reviewer for reputable international journals like Springer Nature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Completing the technical discussion on publication, Dr. Firmanul Catur Wibowo, M.Pd., a resource person and Associate Lecturer from Jakarta State University (UNJ), dissected AI-based publication strategies. With a track record of over 131 Scopus-indexed publications, he emphasized that AI should not be used as a ghostwriter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Use AI for brainstorming, sentence correction, or literature review, but accountability remains with the author. Students must be able to prove claims of novelty through valid data, not fabrication. AI helps us work faster, but academic quality should not be sacrificed through unethical shortcuts,” he explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through this activity, FIPP UNNES proves its commitment as an educational institution that is not only adaptive to technology, but also steadfast in maintaining the dignity of science in order to produce intelligent and ethical graduates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the general lecture, students attend a campus orientation which includes an introduction to the head of study program and lecturers, academic policies and campus services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
