Semarang \u2013 The Faculty of Education and Psychology (FIPP) of Semarang State University (UNNES) held a Research Discussion with Dr. Jonathan Loo from Queen Mary University of London, United Kingdom. The event, held in the FIPP Smart Classroom, served as a strategic forum for lecturers to discuss various opportunities for research development and academic collaboration at the international level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Research Discussion was attended by lecturer representatives from six FIPP study programs: Educational Technology, Non-Formal Education (PNF), Guidance and Counseling (BK), Psychology, Elementary School Teacher Education (PGSD), and Early Childhood Teacher Education (PGPAUD). Through this interactive forum, participants discussed global research trends, potential cross-border collaborations, developing competitive research proposals, and opportunities for publication in reputable international journals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This activity was coordinated by the FIPP Vice Dean for Business, Research, and Collaboration as part of the faculty’s strategy to strengthen its research culture and expand its network of partnerships with world-class universities. The discussion took place dynamically, offering an exchange of ideas and academic experiences, which is expected to form the foundation for sustainable research collaborations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the discussion session, Dr. Jonathan Loo shared insights on the development of multidisciplinary research globally, the importance of building mutually beneficial international collaborations, and strategies for enhancing research competitiveness through partnerships with foreign institutions. Lecturers also had the opportunity to present research ideas with the potential to be developed into future collaborative projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This Research Discussion is part of a series of research activities within the EQUITY Program, one of UNNES’s strategic efforts to strengthen its academic reputation through improving research quality, internationalization, and collaboration with global partners. The program also supports the development of research that makes a tangible contribution to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This activity aligns with UNNES’ commitment to supporting SDG 4 (Quality Education) by enhancing academic capacity and research quality, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by strengthening international partnerships in education, research, and innovation. Through forums like this, FIPP continues to foster a collaborative, innovative, and globally competitive research ecosystem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
