Psychology UNNES-<\/strong>On Saturday, April 19th, 2025, the Psychology Study Program at UNNES held a guest lecture for the 4th-semester course \u201cHuman Resource Development.\u201d The guest lecture was titled \u201cExploring Training Evaluation: The Key to Measuring Training Effectiveness.\u201d<\/em> It aimed to help students understand the importance of evaluating training programs, making sure that the training is effective, on target, and brings real impact to participants\u2019 competence development in the workplace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was held online via Zoom Meeting starting at 07:30 AM (WIB), featuring Mario Muhammad Ramdan, a fresh graduate from UNNES Psychology with a focus on Human Resources and Public Speaking. He is currently working as a Human Resource Intern at SEAMEO Cecep Bandung. Around 180 4th-semester psychology students joined the session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his presentation, Mario explained that training evaluation is the process of systematically collecting information to assess the activities, characteristics, and outcomes of a training program. This evaluation is useful as feedback to measure training effectiveness, improve future training programs, and understand the benefits gained by the participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTraining evaluation is very important in human resource development because it helps measure the effectiveness of a training program in an objective and structured way,\u201d<\/em> Mario explained during the session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The guest lecture ended with an interactive Q&A session. Students were excited to ask questions, and the session was closed with a summary delivered by Akram, the moderator. After the session, Mario shared his thoughts: \u201cI\u2019m really happy to have the chance to share one of my favorite topics from college with friends from the 2023 batch. Besides giving insights and experiences, the critical and thoughtful questions from the participants also encouraged me to learn more about training,\u201d<\/em> said Mario. \u201cKeep being curious and explore more about training through other sources. What I shared today might only be less than 10% of the whole topic on training,\u201d<\/em> he added as a message to the audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Akram also shared his thoughts as a moderator: \u201cI\u2019m happy because in the HR Development course, we\u2019re really taught how to create a full training process from start to finish. I was excited when our lecturer invited real HR practitioners. This guest lecture felt like the perfect complement to what we learned throughout the semester. In class, we used the ADDIE framework to design training, so finally reaching the evaluation stage in this event felt very satisfying. It helped me understand more and feel more prepared to apply training in real life.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This guest lecture is expected to give students a deeper understanding of the importance of training evaluation in the workplace. Hopefully, it will help them become future HR practitioners who can design and evaluate training programs effectively to support human resource development in various organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
