The Guidance and Counseling Research Team of the FIPP Semarang State University officially opened a research grant activity entitled &#8220;Development of a Character Strengths-Based Group Psychoeducation Model to Improve the Resilience of Disaster-Surviving Elementary School Students in Semarang City&#8221; today at Supriyadi 02 Elementary School, Semarang.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"940\" height=\"418\" src=\"https:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/fipp\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2026\/05\/image-18.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8340\" srcset=\"https:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/fipp\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2026\/05\/image-18.png 940w, https:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/fipp\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2026\/05\/image-18-300x133.png 300w, https:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/fipp\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2026\/05\/image-18-768x342.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 940px) 100vw, 940px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This activity is part of the Inter-Institutional Collaborative Research program funded by the Faculty of Education and Psychology, Semarang State University. The research aims to develop a character strengths-based group psychoeducation model to improve the resilience of elementary school students who are disaster survivors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The opening ceremony was attended by the research team, principals, teachers, and research collaboration partners. In her remarks, the lead researcher stated that child disaster survivors need systematic psychological strengthening to be able to recover, adapt, and develop positively after experiencing crises and disasters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;This research is expected to produce a psychoeducational model that is applicable, contextual, and relevant to the needs of elementary school students, particularly in building resilience through strengthening positive character traits,&#8221; said lead researcher Firdian Setiya Arinata, M.Pd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The model developed in this study focuses on strengthening students&#8217; positive character strengths, such as curiosity, love of learning, hope, courage, perseverance, and zest. This approach is considered crucial in helping students cope with the psychological impact of disaster experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The principal of Supriyadi 02 Elementary School, Semarang, Karsono, M.Pd., expressed his appreciation for the research and hoped that the results would make a tangible contribution to strengthening guidance and counseling services and disaster-resilient education in elementary schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This research activity officially began on May 21, 2026, and will continue for several months. Erni Kurniawati<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5. Nurul Zahrotunisa\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>6. The research results are expected to serve as a reference for schools, counselors, and policymakers in supporting the psychological health of child disaster survivors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through collaboration between universities and schools, this research represents a concrete contribution from academics in supporting the strengthening of resilience and psychological well-being of students in disaster-prone areas.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Semarang &#8211; May 21, 2026.
