SEMARANG – The Faculty of Education and Psychology (FIPP) of Semarang State University (UNNES) took its 61st Anniversary celebration beyond the campus walls.
On Tuesday, March 10, 2026, faculty leaders and dozens of students visited the Muhammadiyah Tahfidzul Qur’an Islamic Boarding School (PPTQM) Luqman Al-Hakim in Patemon to hold a Qur’an recitation ceremony with the students.

The Dean of FIPP UNNES, Prof. Dr. Edy Purwanto, M.Si., stated that this year’s event was deliberately designed differently, involving external parties.
According to him, choosing a pesantren as the location for the event was a step towards strengthening ties and grounding the values of the Quran beyond the academic walls.
“By honoring the Quran, we will be shaped into better people,” said Prof. Edy in his remarks.
Prof. Edy stated that this activity is an annual routine. However, this time, FIPP UNNES wanted the blessings of UNNES’s Anniversary to also be felt by the surrounding community and the students.
The solemn event was attended by faculty leaders, including the Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Farid Ahmadi, S.Kom., M.Kom., Ph.D., and welcomed by the caretaker of PPTQM Luqman Al-Hakim, Dr. Anwar Sutoyo, M.Pd.
The Magic of Quranic Language
Before the Khataman ceremony began, Drs. Ilyas, M.Ag., a lecturer in Non-Formal Education (PNF) at UNNES, delivered an in-depth sermon on the aesthetics of the Quran. He emphasized that the Quran is not just a holy book, but a linguistic miracle unmatched by any literary work in the world.

“The Quran is the most beautiful language. It has extraordinary flexibility; it remains touching and appropriate when recited in both happy and sad times,” Ilyas said to the lecturers, students, and Islamic boarding school students in attendance.
The event concluded with a prayer for the progress of UNNES, which is now entering its 61st year, with the hope that the conservation campus will continue to produce innovations that benefit the nation.
