Semarang, January 6, 2026 — The Faculty of Education and Psychology (FIPP), Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES), organized a Research Proposal Development Workshop Based on Scopus-Indexed Journal Publication Standards on Tuesday, January 6, 2026. The workshop aimed to enhance lecturers’ academic capacity in designing research proposals that are conceptually and methodologically robust, while being aligned with the publication standards of reputable international journals.

This workshop forms part of FIPP UNNES’s strategic efforts to strengthen a culture of research excellence and to promote both the quality and quantity of scholarly publications in Scopus-indexed journals, particularly in the fields of education and psychology. Participants received intensive guidance on formulating research problems grounded in novelty, strengthening theoretical frameworks, ensuring methodological rigor, and strategically aligning research proposals with the aims and scope of reputable international journals.

The workshop was officially opened by the Dean of FIPP UNNES, Edy Purwanto, M.Si., who emphasized that enhancing lecturers’ capacity in developing research proposals constitutes a fundamental foundation for improving research quality, strengthening institutional academic reputation, and increasing higher education contributions to addressing national and global educational challenges.

The workshop featured Yoppy Wahyu Purnomo, S.Pd., M.Pd., Professor at the Faculty of Education, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, as the keynote speaker. He shared academic experiences, best practices, and strategic insights into developing research proposals with a high likelihood of publication in Scopus-indexed journals. The discussion and in-depth sessions were moderated by Achmad Miftachul ‘Ilmi, S.Pd., M.Pd.

The implementation of this workshop aligns with the National Research Master Plan (Rencana Induk Riset Nasional – RIRN), particularly within the clusters of human resource development, quality education, and the strengthening of social sciences and humanities, which position research in education and psychology as strategic instruments for enhancing the quality of human resources in Indonesia. Furthermore, this initiative contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDG 4 (Quality Education) through the strengthening of evidence-based educational research, SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) through improving the quality of research in psychology and mental health, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through the reinforcement of inter-institutional academic networks and collaborations. The workshop also supports Indonesia’s national development agenda (Asta Cita) by strengthening globally competitive, adaptive, and high-quality human resources, as well as by fostering a higher education research and innovation ecosystem with tangible impacts on national educational development.

Through the organization of the Research Proposal Development Workshop Based on Scopus-Indexed Journal Publication Standards, FIPP UNNES reaffirms its commitment to building a productive, collaborative, and internationally publication-oriented research ecosystem, while strengthening the role of higher education institutions in generating high-quality, relevant, and impactful research in education and psychology for the benefit of society.
