Singapore-Malaysia, October 20-23, 2024 – The Guidance and Counseling Study Program Faculty of Education and Psychology UNNES is conducting the International Student Academic Mobility (ISAM) in Singapore and Malaysia. This activity was attended by 49 student from Counselor Professional Education program, bachelor degree, master degree, and doctoral degree from Guidance and Counseling study programs. The event was accompanied by six lecturers from Guidance and Counseling Study Program Faculty of Education and Psychology UNNES.
This activity began with a visit to Singapore Indonesia School (SIS) to discuss mental health management, inclusive education, issues in schools such as bullying, and to make efforts for collaboration. The hope in the future, Guidance and Counseling Study Program Faculty of Education and Psychology UNNES and SIS can collaborate in community service. Next, students and lecturers from Guidance and Counseling Study Program Faculty of Education and Psychology UNNES program visited the FKP Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM).
The activities at FKP USIM included meetings between the lecturers of Guidance and Counseling Study Program Faculty of Education and Psychology UNNES program and the Dean of FKP USIM. The students of Guidance and Counseling Study Program Faculty of Education and Psychology UNNES program received family counseling training from five speakers from USIM. The speakers from USIM who were invited to provide the training were Dr. Nor Hamizah Ab Razak on family development, Norhafisah Abd Rahman on family functioning, Dr. Siti Nubailah Mohd Yusof on basic concepts in family counseling, Dr. Dini Farhana Baharudin on the family counseling process, and Dr. Nurhafizah Mohd Sukor, who provided training on abnormal issues in families.
In addition, a visiting lecturer class was also held by Sunawan, S.Pd., M.Si., Ph.D., a lecturer from Guidance and Counseling Study Program Faculty of Education and Psychology UNNES, discussing career and workplace counseling. On the last day, the ISAM activities were concluded with a city tour held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
