Psychology UNNES – Congratulations to Psychology UNNES for qualifying to advance to the National Student Scientific Week (PIMNAS) 2024. A Pride for Four Teams from the Psychology Department of Semarang State University that Successfully Qualified for PIMNAS 2024.

The 37th PIMNAS event is one of the most prestigious competitions in the academic world, which will be held at Airlangga University from October 14 to 19, 2024. Through intense competition, four teams from UNNES Psychology have proven themselves to be the best by presenting ideas and innovations that are not only intriguing but also have the potential for significant impact.

1. Social Humanities Research PKM: Conscious Consumerism

This team is conducting research on “The Effectiveness of Daily Tracker Self-control in Addressing Consumptive Behavior Amidst the Wave of Fast Fashion.” Led by Akhfiya Nasywa Faridah (Psychology 2022) and supported by team members including Dharma Shanti (Psychology 2022), Rifdah Dwi Syafrina (Psychology 2022), Ainun Ni’matul Muthoharoh (Psychology 2022), and Yuniar Hasna. (Psikologi 2021). This research focuses on practical ways to reduce consumer behavior, especially in an era where fast fashion is so dominant.

2. Community Service PKM: Baris Asa

This team, led by Ayu Ratri Prihandini (Psychology 2022) and supported by team members Sandya Sarira Ayu (Psychology 2022), Nur Fitria Almaira (Psychology 2022), Meidita Ananda (Psychology 2023), and Shelma Raina Putri Nugroho. (Psikologi 2023). This research focuses on “Strengthening Self-acceptance through Asset-based Community Development to Prevent Toxic Adolescent Relationships at the Mardi Utomo Social Service Center in Semarang.” The project aims to enhance self-acceptance among adolescents, thereby preventing unhealthy and damaging relationships.

3. Community Service PKM: Monologue of the Soul

This team is led by Desyfa Cahya Aina (FBS) and supported by Sekar Pudjiastuti (Psychology 2022), Ilham Maulana (Psychology 2022), and other members. With a unique approach, this team developed the strategy “Self Esteem through Role Play as an Effort to Improve Mental Health at the Al-Hidayah Social Care Home,” which emphasizes the importance of art in enhancing mental health, especially in social environments that require special attention.

  4. Community Service PKM: Coastal Disaster Education

This team is led by Fajar Wahyushi Feudsi (FISIP) and supported by Nafiatur Riwayati (Psychology 2022) and other members. This project is a strategic effort for the “Augmented Reality-Based Disaster Literacy Improvement for Hasanuddin 04 Islamic Elementary School Students in Semarang,” which focuses on disaster education with an innovative approach, combining Augmented Reality technology to enhance children’s understanding of disaster mitigation.

We are very proud of the achievements that these four teams have accomplished. Our hope is that the results of this research and service will not only be a source of pride for UNNES Psychology but also make a tangible contribution to society and the world of education. I hope the entire team remains enthusiastic and is able to bring home the best achievements from the PIMNAS 2024 event, and that this experience serves as a stepping stone for great works in the future.
