Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) conducted a comparative study visit to Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) with the aim of strengthening collaboration in the fields of curriculum and academics. The event took place on September 2, 2024, and was attended by Mr. Farid Ahmadi, S.Kom., M.Kom., Ph.D., Vice Dean I of Academic Affairs and Student Affairs at FIPP UNNES, and Mrs. Siti Nuzulia, S.Psi., M.Si., Ph.D., Vice Dean III of Business, Research, and Cooperation.
The meeting was held in the second-floor meeting room of the FIPP UNNES Dean’s Office and was attended by Drs. Sigit Yulianto, M.Pd., Coordinator of the PGSD Study Program at UNNES, Mr. Muhammad Ragil Kurniawan, M.Pd., Coordinator of the PGSD Study Program at UAD, the Quality Assurance Team of FIPP UNNES, and faculty members from the PGSD program at UNNES.
In her speech, Mrs. Siti Nuzulia, S.Psi., M.Si., Ph.D., Vice Dean III of FIPP UNNES, emphasized the importance of collaboration between study programs and faculties to improve the quality of education in Indonesia. “This benchmarking visit is not only an opportunity to share experiences but also a step towards continuously improving and refining curricula and academic systems to be more adaptive to the times,” she said.
The delegation from PGSD UAD, led by Mr. Muhammad Ragil Kurniawan, M.Pd., expressed their appreciation for the warm welcome received from FIPP UNNES. “We hope this visit will provide new insights for PGSD UAD in curriculum development and academic strengthening, thus enhancing the competitiveness of our graduates both nationally and internationally,” he stated.
The benchmarking activities included in-depth discussions about the implementation of the curriculum at UNNES, which has been recognized as a pioneer university in developing a holistic system. Additionally, the two universities also discussed innovations in teaching, academic evaluation, and flagship programs that support the enhancement of educational quality, such as the PMM Mandiri program.
The event concluded with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between PGSD UAD and PGSD UNNES, covering collaboration in curriculum development, faculty and student exchanges, and joint research in the future. This benchmarking visit is expected to create positive synergy that can enhance the quality of education at both universities and make a tangible contribution to the advancement of higher education in Indonesia.
