Universitas Negeri Semarang/Faculty of Education/NEWS UPDATE/UNNES PGSD Inaugural Flag Ceremony Successfully Held

Semarang, August 26, 2024 – The Primary School Teacher Education (PGSD) Study Program of Semarang State University (UNNES) has successfully held the first flag ceremony for the new academic year 2024/2025 on Monday, August 26, 2024. The event, which took place in the front field of the PGSD UNNES office, was attended by the entire academic community of PGSD UNNES, including lecturers, new 2024 students, and administrative staff.

The flag ceremony began at 07.00 WIB with a solemn atmosphere and full of national spirit. The ceremony participants showed high discipline during the procession. The Red and White flag was raised by the Paskibra team from selected PGSD students from the Student Association (HIMA), accompanied by the strains of the national anthem Indonesia Raya.

The Dean of the Faculty of Education and Psychological Sciences (FIPP) UNNES, Prof. Dr. Edy Purwanto, M.Si., acted as the master of ceremonies. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of discipline in academic life. “People who are able to force themselves to do good things, then they will be successful. Today’s ceremony aims to form and familiarize discipline. The presence of the entire PGSD UNNES academic community on time before 07.00 WIB in the field is proof of good discipline,” said Prof. Dr. Edy Purwanto, M.Si.

He also delivered a message to lecturers, administrative staff, and students. “Lecturers and administrative staff must serve well. Lecturers who have many tasks besides teaching, must be able to prioritize and manage their time well. Students must also have the motivation to excel,” he added.

The first flag ceremony was closed with a prayer led by the ceremony officer from HIMA PGSD UNNES. By holding this flag ceremony, it is hoped that PGSD UNNES students will increasingly understand and appreciate the values of discipline and be able to apply them in everyday life as future educators.
