AT THE UNIVERSITY OF QUEENSLAND AUSTRALIA
Lecturers from the Faculty of Education and Psychology, Universitas Negeri Semarang had the opportunity to explain the Implementation of Inclusive Education in Indonesia in a Guest Lecture activity at School Education, University of Queensland, Australia. They are Dr Barokah Isdaryanti SPd MPd, Liftiah, PhD, Petra Kristi Mulyani Med PhD and Moh Farizqo Irvan MPd.
This activity is part of a research collaboration with the QS Top 100 University partner in the world (University of Queensland, which is ranked QS 43 in the world), represented by Assoc Prof Shiralee Poed. The guest lecture activity was carried out in a hybrid mode in the classroom and using the zoom platform which was attended by the Head of School, School of Education, University of Queensland, Professor Robin Shields, lecturers, and both undergraduate and postgraduate students from various countries.
In this activity, the UNNES lecturers took turns presenting the material in accordance with the results of the comparative research that had been carried out. Dr Barokah Isdaryanti SPd MPd explained the implementation of inclusive education in Indonesian elementary schools which includes implementation flow, class management and implementation evaluation. Meanwhile, Liftiah PhD conveyed about inclusive education policies in Indonesia, especially at the elementary school level. Petra Kristi Mulyani MEd PhD and Moh Farizqo Irvan MPd explained the curriculum and preparation of prospective elementary school teachers in implementing inclusive education in the field. The guest lecture activity was very interesting because many questions were given to the speakers during the discussion session. They were interested because this presentation presented data that provided a point of view regarding the implementation of inclusive education in the independent curriculum at various levels of education in Indonesia. The activities carried out are part of UNNES efforts to increase the achievement as World Class University.
