Mission

In order to manifest the vision, the mission of the Sports Coaching Department is explained as follows:

  1. Producing human resources in sports education and coaching with conservation, characterized, and excellent perspective.
  2. Developing researches in sports education and coaching with conservation, characterized, and excellent perspective through a scientific approach.
  3. Spreading and pioneering the implementation of science and technology, and being references in sports education and coaching with conservation, characterized, and excellent perspective.
  4. Establishing cooperation with various parties to develop science and technology in sports education and coaching with an international reputation.

Competencies

The competencies which are expected in the Sports Coaching Department (S1), Faculty of Sports Science UNNES are

  1. Being skillful sports trainers based on the coaching science who are optimistic, professional, responsible, and paying attention to social values.
  2. Becoming teachers based on teacher competence who are optimistic, professional, responsible, and paying attention to the needs of the stages of students’ growth and development.

Objectives

The objectives of the Sports Coaching Department are:

  1. Producing graduates devoted to the Almighty God, have character, are highly competitive, and have a conservation perspective.
  2. Manifesting the educational institutions and governance which are credible, accountable, and transparent, which are excellent and have a conservation perspective.
  3. Producing research that is excellent in sports education and coaching, which is useful for developing science and technology.
  4. Utilizing and spreading science and technology in sports education and coaching with a conservation perspective and international reputation.
  5. Having strategic partners in sports education and coaching with domestic and international institutions to create a reputable, credible, accountable, and transparent institution.

Profile of Graduates

Graduates of the Sports Coaching Department are bachelor’s who can be educators (physical and sports education teacher). These graduates have a unique ability as sports extracurricular trainers, professional trainers in sports, physical trainers in professional sports clubs, sports and fitness instructors. They also can become sports analysts, experienced sports club managers, fitness center managers, sports industry managers, and sports support personnel (fitness masseurs, referees, and sports judges).
