The publication highlights the department&#8217;s commitment to advancing innovative Islamic social finance models that contribute to inclusive and sustainable economic development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The article was led by <strong>Risanda A. Budiantoro<\/strong> as the first author and explores the potential of <strong>Cash Waqf Linked Qurban (CWLQ)<\/strong> as an innovative financing mechanism to address poverty and improve social welfare in Indonesia. The study responds to the growing challenge of declining meat consumption and widening inequality in access to animal protein among low-income communities, despite Indonesia&#8217;s significant potential for qurban and waqf-based philanthropy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Using panel data from <strong>34 provinces in Indonesia<\/strong> covering the <strong>2019\u20132023<\/strong> period, the research analyzes the influence of qurban production, previous poverty levels, economic growth, the Human Development Index (HDI), and the Gini coefficient on provincial poverty rates. By integrating these socio-economic indicators, the study provides a comprehensive understanding of how Islamic social finance can complement conventional poverty alleviation strategies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The findings demonstrate that <strong>Cash Waqf Linked Qurban<\/strong> has strong potential to become a sustainable social financing instrument that integrates charitable giving with productive economic empowerment. Rather than viewing qurban solely as an annual religious practice, the study proposes a broader development framework in which waqf-supported livestock programs can strengthen food security, expand access to nutritious food, and create long-term economic opportunities for vulnerable communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The research further highlights that effective poverty reduction requires the integration of religious philanthropy with sound economic policies and institutional governance. By combining waqf, qurban, and community-based economic development, CWLQ offers an innovative approach that not only addresses short-term social assistance but also promotes sustainable welfare improvement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The authors recommend strengthening collaboration among government institutions, waqf management bodies, zakat organizations, Islamic financial institutions, and local communities to optimize the implementation of CWLQ across Indonesia. Improving governance, transparency, and professional management of Islamic social finance is considered essential for maximizing its socio-economic impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This publication reflects the Department of Islamic Economics and Finance&#8217;s dedication to producing impactful research that bridges Islamic economic principles with contemporary public policy challenges. The study contributes valuable evidence for policymakers, Islamic philanthropic institutions, researchers, and development practitioners seeking innovative solutions to reduce poverty while promoting equitable economic development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The research directly contributes to several <strong>United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)<\/strong>. It strongly supports <strong>SDG 1 (No Poverty)<\/strong> by proposing an innovative Islamic social financing model to reduce poverty. The study advances <strong>SDG 2 (Zero Hunger)<\/strong> by promoting more equitable access to nutritious food through sustainable qurban management. It also contributes to <strong>SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth)<\/strong> by encouraging productive community-based economic activities supported by waqf and qurban. Furthermore, the research aligns with <strong>SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities)<\/strong> by addressing disparities in food consumption and income distribution, while supporting <strong>SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals)<\/strong> through collaboration among government agencies, Islamic financial institutions, philanthropic organizations, and local communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Through high-quality scholarly publications, the Department of Islamic Economics and Finance FEB UNNES continues to strengthen its contribution to the development of Islamic economics by generating evidence-based innovations that support inclusive, sustainable, and socially responsible economic development.
