Universitas Negeri Semarang/Collaboration/UNNES Holds FGD Feasibility Study of Hospital Establishment and Medical Study Program

Semarang State University (UNNES) is preparing to establish a hospital named UNNES Hospital (UNNES Hospital) and the Medical Study Program. As a series of preparations, one of them was a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with the theme “Feasibility Study for Establishing a UNNES Hospital” which was carried out offline with the application of strict health protocols.

Present as resource persons were Prof. Dr. R Benny Riyanto SH MHum CN, Director General of Legislation, Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia, and Dr. Anggito Abimanyu MSc, Head of the Implementing Agency for the Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH), Wednesday (15/9).

UNNES Chancellor Prof. Dr. Fathur Rokhman MHum said that the establishment of the UNNES Hospital and Medical Study Program was very important to support UNNES capacity development.

“The establishment of the UNNES Hospital and the Medical Study Program is the target of the UNNES RPJP. These two things are likened to a chicken and an egg, which are equally important to accelerate,” said Prof Fathur.

In addition, Prof Fathur added that the presence of the UNNES Hospital would bring benefits to the people of Semarang. Moreover, the population of Semarang City continues to increase every year, the ratio of hospital beds for every 1,000 residents is still low, and macroeconomic conditions (GRDP & economic growth) have increased.

“This factor is also a part of the importance of establishing the UNNES Hospital. For that, we ask for directions from resource persons, Prof. Dr. R Benny Riyanto, SH MHum CN, Director General of Legislation, Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia, and Dr. Anggito Abimanyu MSc, Head of the Implementing Agency for the Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH),” said Prof Fathur.

Prof. Dr. R Benny Riyanto SH MHum CN in his direction said that UNNES had the potential to establish a hospital.

“We will fully monitor this plan and hopefully it will be realized soon,” said the Director General of Legislation at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia.

Meanwhile, Dr. Anggito Abimanyu MSc, Head of the Implementing Agency for the Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH) responded well to preparations for the development of UNNES acceleration such as the establishment of the UNNES Hospital and Medical Study Program. Dr Anggito added that there was a need for cooperation between UNNES and BPKH.

Head of the UNNES Business Development Agency, Dr. Amir Mahmud SPd MSi, explained the feasibility study for the establishment of a UNNES hospital.

“Development needs to be carried out with a feasibility study for hospital development which is reviewed using aspects of a feasibility study, especially market aspects, legal aspects, human resources aspects, technical and technological aspects, and financial aspects. The results obtained from the five aspects studied show that the establishment of a UNNES hospital is feasible,” he said.

Dr. Amir Mahmud continued, later the location of the UNNES Hospital will be built on Jl. Kelud Raya Semarang.

“This place is very strategic, access is very easy, in the middle of the city, residential area, next to the UNNES Training Center (UTC) Hotel,” he added.

He also said that the UNNES Hospital would open public services and excellent sports medicine and telemedicine services targeting the general public and BPJS users, he concluded.
