One of the program series of Erasmus plus GITA (Growing Indonesia a Triangular Approach) project is a partnership meeting held in Cheltenham, United Kingdom, in the middle of April 2018. The meeting located at University of Gloucestershire (UoG) was attended by 7 universities in Indonesia and 4 partners from Europe, The University of Gloucestershire (as the host), Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT), Dublin, Ireland, Fachhochschule des Mittelstandes (FHM) Bielefeld, Germany, and University of Innsbruck (UIBK), Innsbruck, Austria.
As one of the universities in Indonesia that received this GITA grant program, Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) sent three delegations, they are Dr wahyono MM, Dorojatun Prihandono SE MM PhD and Sri Utami SS MA MPd. In this chance, UNNES delegations had an opportunity to explain some initial programs that have been realized in the campus especially in Faculty of Economics, and several things about events in Semarang related to entrepreneurial activities or the events related to local community entrepreneurship.
The event was opened by the Vice Chancellor of The University of Gloucestershire, Steven Marston and continued by Professor David James as the Dean of Academic Development. The interactive discussion between the universities was located in Fullwood House, Park Campus, Cheltenhamm. Steven Marston started the discussion by explaining several backgrounds of GITA program.
After the discussion, there was a presentation of every partner related to HEInnovate self-assessment implementation program and draft action plan that can be developed in each institution. HEInnovate self-assessment is a tool to measure the entrepreneurial level of an institution, especially higher education.
After the lunch break, the participants went to Growth Hub in Oxstalls, Gloucester. Growth Hub is a place built as a meeting center between prospective businessmen with mentors or experts and stakeholders involved in the process of business activities. The government-funded place looks luxurious equipped with meeting facilities, classrooms, large conference rooms, computer rooms, business libraries, etc.
During the visit, also presented how to promote the program through online media. The visit lasted for about 2.5 hours and the group returned to Fullwood House followed by the discussion on HEInnovate by John Jameson of Dublin Insitute of Technology (DIT) and by Project Leader, Prof Neil Towers from The University of Gloucestershire.
On the first day, the event consisted of mini-exhibition from each university, explanation about financial accountability report, and presentation about localities in each area of universities. On the second day, also attended lecturers and students of the University of Gloucestershire. The entire program ended with a plan of the follow-up meeting to be held in Yogyakarta in July 2018.
