Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) received a visit from four Queensland teachers from Monday (9/24). The visit was a realization of a teacher exchange program between Indonesia and Australia initiated by the Central Java Provincial Education and Culture Office.
Located at the UNNES Rector Office, Vice Chancellor IV for Planning and Cooperation, Prof. TL Sukestiyarno, MS PhD warmly welcomed the arrival of the four teachers who were accompanied by curriculum staff from the Central Java Province Education and Culture Office.
“As a university with a conservation and international reputation, UNNES is ready to carry out the mandate of the Central Java Provincial Education and Culture Department to become a partner in the teacher exchange program this time,” said Prof. Sukes.
The four teachers are Samanta Preston (Laims School of Distamce Education), Lisa Mc Mahon (Rollingstone State School), Teresa Sewll – Kasim (Brsibane Central State School), and Warren Ruhle (Harniston State High School).
They are scheduled to attend lectures at UNNES for 10 days. Head of the curriculum affairs of the Central Java Province Education and Culture Office, Ernest Septiyani explained the four Queensland teachers would study Indonesian and local culture (Cross Cultural Understanding).
“Before returning to their home country, they will be invited to visit Prambanan Temple and Borobudur Temple,” said Ernest.
