Foreign Students that do lots of program outside of their countries are being their countries ambassador.Therefore, they must be carrying their characteristic and culture in order to be able to be a representation of their countries.
Rector of Universitas Negeri Semarang Prof Fathur Rokhman said ” Foreign students also strengthen relations among countries.Therefore, according Prof Fathur, relationship that have been occured around countries will be strengthened.
“Students that have been joining program in university outside their country indirectly also have a mission to strengthen relations with the country where they studies,” said Prof Fathur when he accepting foreign students taking the Bahasa Indonesia bagi Penutur Asing (BIPA) program from India and fieldwork practise (PKL) from University Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) Malaysia, Monday, 1 Juli 2019, in Rectorat Sekaran Campus, Gunungpati, Semarang.
Present in welcoming students were, among others, Vice Dean of Academic Affairs FBS UNNES Dr. Hendi Pratama, UPSI PKL supervisor Bambang Indiatmoko, and the person in charge of the BIPA program Wati Istanti.
Prof Fathur confirms, bilateral relations between countries could have been dynamic and at some time appeared friction. However, various matters related to the past should not be an obstacle to study in the wanted country. On the other hand, Prof Fathur hopes foreign student scould inform the goodness and promote of UNNES on the international scene.
Dr Hendi Pratama said, there were eight students who took the BIPA, whereas the students who took PKL from UPSI were four studens. He said, BIPA’s student will learn language and culture of Indonesia for a week. There are also PKL from UPSI will doing practice in FBS UNNES until 25 August 2019.(*)
