Two Ateneo De Naga University students from the Philippines attended the International Teaching Practice Program (PPL) at Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) for twenty-seven days (3-30 / 8). The two students were Krystel Casipit teaching at Labschool UNNES PAUD and Ralph Robles teaching Mathematics at SMP Negeri 13 Semarang.
UNNES Rector Prof Dr Fathur Rokhman MHum said that this program is very good because UNNES and Ateneo De Naga University Philippines can exchange information and experiences for students from both parties who are prospective teachers.
The Faculty of Languages and Arts lecturer advised the students following the international teaching practice program that this activity should be well-utilized, as an effort to prepare professional and qualified teacher candidates.
The Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) initiated a SEA-Teacher Project program or also called Pre-Service Student Teacher Exchange in Southeast Asia. The program aims to provide opportunities for students from universities in Southeast Asia to experience teaching practice program in schools in Southeast Asian countries.
