In order to grow and drive students to drill the food source potential in Indonesia. Universitas Negeri Semarang is having a collaboration with Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk. They hold an Indofood Research Nugraha (IRN) Program under the theme “Sustainable Development of Food System in Potential and Local Wisdom Basis for Health Campaign”. The event was held in Dean Building in FT UNNES, Thursday (11/4).
The FT UNNES’ Vice Dean of Student Affair, Dr Wirawan Sumbodo MPd. He said the potential food source in Indonesia is very diverse. It is needed a comprehensive research about the food potential to support the foods independency. UNNES students are to optimize the food research potential by getting the incentive and supervision from IRN.
“The diverse of Indonesian crops becoming a nation potential strength. The food source potential diversity needs to be studied to boost the food independency of Indonesia. Then the study results hopefully would do to society health and civil-economic independency,” said Dr Wirawan Sumbodo.
Indofood Research Nugraha presented Prof Ambariyanto MSc from Undip and Prof Budi Prasetyo Widyobroto from UGM. The student coming from various subjects in UNNES as they participant are actively involved. Besides UNNES students, there are also representative from Undip, Poltekes, Unika, Upgris, and UIN Walisongo.
It is said from Prof Ambariyanto, the aspects in the research scope are production (technology agro), technology (crops, post-crops, and management), the health and society nutrition as well as socio-economy. The requirement of research program has to be fulfilling the rule of writing as the first filtering process.
Based on PT Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk Director, this program has been running since 2006. The awardee of the incentive would get the supervision from IRN team expert. Indofood Researc Nugraha (IRN) is one of the CSR program began in 2006. The program is incentivizing the research for college student’s final project.
Through this program Indofood possess the access to reach higher educational field and to boost renewable technology of food management by young researcher from various subjects. The outcome from this incentive is to support national food-strength governmental program through local commodity of food diverse.
