“Bule on The Loose”, Experiencing The Village Life Style

What is it like to live in a village in Indonesia?
Indonesia is known with its beautiful landscape and the warmth of its people, which made Angela Arunarsirakul, David MacMurtrie, Martha Kupsch and Abhner Odreman wanted to experience how is it like to live in Indonesia especially live in the village.
Along with Unnes’s International Office members, these four Bule got the chance to visit Cepoko and Kandri Tourist Village to experience village life style.
Started with fruit picking in Cepoko, the four Bule harvested some tropical fruits such as Guava and one of Indonesia signature fruit, Klengkeng. Later, they continued their activities to Kandri to feed fishes and cows followed by harvesting catfish. In the afternoon, they went to Tambak lorok for mangrove planting over Semarang Coast. The day is finished with having home made seafoods as dinner.
“I am so glad that Unnes gave me this opportunity to experience the village life style which I thing It is the best way to discover more about Indonesia and I wo uld love to do it all again” said Martha Kupsch.
“It is challenging to be on the boat to plant the mangrove trees because I have never done that before” said Abhner using Bahasa Indonesia.
