Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) wajib diikuti oleh semua mahasiswa karena KKN merupakan kuliah yang dipadukan dengan kerja secara nyata. Bekerja untuk apa? Bekerja dengan program untuk melakukan program-program alternatif dalam upaya memberdayakan masyarakat.

Oleh karena itu mahasiswa harus berdaya dulu. Orang yang berdaya yakni orang yang memiliki harapan ke depan, semakin panjang harapan semakin cerdas orangnya. Semakin panjang harapan sebuah bangsa semakin beradap bangsa itu.

Rektor Prof Fathur Rokhman MHum menyampaikan itu saat melepas 4.419 mahasiswa KKN Unnes tahap II tahun 2015, Senin (26/10) sore di halaman rektorat kampus Sekaran Gunungpati.

“Ini sebagaimana Unnes, memiliki harapan jauh ke depan seperti yang tercantum dalam visi Unnes yakni Universitas Konservasi bertaraf internasional,” kata Prof Fathur.

Mahasiswa KKN pun juga harus memiliki harapan yang panjang untuk desa yang kalian tempati KKN untuk melakukan upaya-upaya yang sudah diprogramkan sehingga bermanfaat bagi masyarakat, jelas Prof Fathur.

Menurut Prof Fathur, saat melakukan KKN terbaik syaratnya sehat, berdaya, kompak, mempunyai bekal yang cukup yakni bekal kompetensi, semangat, dan membawa nama baik lembaga.

Prof Fathur menginginkan mahasiswa KKN juga mengibarkan semangat konservasi Unnes di tempat KKN. Ciri konservasi itu yakni cinta kepada lingkungan, berkarakter mulia, ramah kepada masyarakat, dan semangat berprestasi.

Kepala Pusat Pengembangan KKN Dr Dwijanto MS melaporkan, sebelum diterjunkan mahasiswa telah diberikan pembekalan (25-26/ Oktober) dengan materi wawasan dan kebijakan KKN Unnes, posdaya, program kerja mahasiswa, setrategi pelaksanaan KKN, evaluasi dan laporan, serta tes materi pembekalan.

Program kerja meliputi bidang pendidikan, kesehatan, ekonomi, lingkungan, dan infra struktur. Untuk mendukung keberlanjutan pasca KKN mahasiswa diwajibkan membentuk dan atau mengembangkan Posdaya (Pos Pemberdayaan Keluarga) di masing-masing desa lokasi KKN.

Mahasiswa KKN sejumlah 4.419 orang itu terdiri atas KKN lokasi 2.638 mahasiswa di 3 Kabupaten yakni Kabupaten Magelang, Batang, dan Tegal. Meliputi 16 kecamatan, 261 Desa, melibatkan 90 dosen pendamping lapangan.

KKN Alternatif mandiri 1.671 mahasiswa di Kabupaten Semarang, Kabupaten Kendal, dan Kota Semarang. KKN PPM (pembelajaran pemberdayaan masyarakat) 60 mahasiswa di Kota Semarang dan Kabupaten Jepara. KKN Vokasi 50 mahasiswa di Kota Semarang dan Kabupaten Kendal.

KKN Alternatif ini dilaksanakan kerjasama dengan PT PLN Distribusi Jawa Tengah-DIY dalam program Hidroponik di Desa Banjarrejo Kecamatan Boja Kabupaten Kendal.
