Menjamin produk makanan telah layak dipasarkan ke masyarakat luas, LP2M Unnes bekerjasama dengan Dinas Kesehatan Kota Semarang mengadakan pelatihan bagi warga untuk mendapatkan Sertifikat Produksi Pangan Industri Rumah Tangga (SPP-IRT), Rabu (4/12).

Kegiatan yang dikemas dalam program Gerdu Kempling ini merupakan program kerja dari Kuliah Kerja Nyata Pembelajaran Pemberdayaan Masyarakat (KKN-PPM) yang sejalan dengan program pemerintah Kota Semarang yakni dalam mengentaskan kemiskinan di empat kelurahan di Kecamatan Gunungpati, yaitu Patemon, Sukorejo, Kalisegoro, dan Cepoko.

Gerdu Kempling yang mendapat dukungan dari CSR Bank BNI ini menitikberatkan pada pembentukan dan peningkatan usaha ekonomi produktif berbasis potensi lokal dengan memanfaatkan potensi serta sumberdaya yang dimiliki masyarakat setempat. Harapannya, pendapatan masyarakat meningkat melalui usaha ekonomi yang produktif dan pada gilirannya dapat mengurangi kemiskinan masyarakat.

Produk Unggulan

Program Gerdu Kempling menghasilkan produk unggulan antara lain produk berbasis SINGLE (singkong dan lele) di kelurahan Patemon dan Kalisegoro, makanan berbahan baku susu di Cepoko, serta makanan berbahan baku pisang di kelelurahan Sukorejo.

“Yang menjadi titik berat dari pelatihan ini adalah, kita tidak hanya tahu tentang cara produksi pangan yang baik , tetapi harus sadar melaksankan sesuai aturan” ujar Dosen Pembimbing Drs Sunyoto MSi.

Kepada unnes.ac.id, perwakilan mahasiswa KKN-PPM Vicihayu memaparkan keberhasilan program ini yang telah membentuk Kelompok Usaha Bersama (KUB) dan melatih masyarakat untuk membuat aneka produk yang mempunyai nilai jual tinggi.

“Dengan SPP-IRT diharapkan masyarakat lebih terpacu untuk terus meningkatkan produktivitas dan kualitasnya, serta terus melakukan berbagai inovasi produk sesuai permintaan masyarakat,” tambah Sunyoto.
