Diskusi antara tim Ditjen Pembelajaran dan Kemahasiswaan (BELMAWA) Kemenristek Dikti bersama Pusat Karir dan Konseling MKU/MKDK LP3 mengangkat isue-isue mutahir berkenaan dengan relevansi atau kebermanfaatan luusan di Dunia Kerja dan Dunia Industri (DUDI) serta masyarakat, pemantauan masa tunggu para alumni memasuki jenjang karir pasca kelulusan setelah lulus 2 tahun dari saat mereka diwisuda. 

Mereka menyoroti persoalan keberkerjaan merupakan hal yang cukup krusial di tengah-tengah minimnya ketersediaan lapangan kerja bagi lulusan pendidikan tinggi, gap kebergayutan antara bidang study (kompetensi) dengan dunia kerja, serta tantangan  para lulusan perguruan tinggi nasional berkomepitisi dengan lulusan negara-negara lain. Demikian benang merah dari diskusi terfokus yang berlangsung pada hari Kamis, 27 September 2018 di Ruang Pusat Karir Gedung Prof. Satmoko Kampus UNNES Semarang.

Tim dari Ditjen Belmawa yang diwakili oleh Karnadi dan Ade Irmanto menegaskan perlunya penguatan Pusat Karir dan Bidang Kemahasiswaan menyiapkan sedini mengkin perencanaan karir para mahasiswa sehingga pada ahirnya ketika mereka lulus peluang kerja lebih mudah diraih. Melalui study cohort dari suatu tracer study tidak dapat dipungkiri bahwa kesuksesan lulusan perguruan tinggi terbukti lebih bisa terbuka pada lulusan yang sejak awal telah mempersiapkan dan merencanakan karir secara matang dan terukur.

Ia beharap bahwa perguruan tinggi dalam skala nasional lebih mencermati dinamika tuntutan dunia kerja di era industri 4.0 yang semakin kuat dengan upaya  penyiapan lulusan yang lebih berkualitas.

Sementara Kepala Pusat Karir dan Konseling MKU/MKDK LP3 UNNES, Dr Eko Supraptono MPd memaparkan sejumlah program layanan pusatnya yang berorientasi pada keterampilan Soft Skill dan karakter yang pada ahir-ahir ini menjadi perhatian para pelaku Dunia Usaha dan Indurti dalam merekrut calon karyawan. Para pelaku usaha lebih cenderung mengunggulkan calon karyawan dengan soft skill dan karakter yang baik. 

Dengan dukungan program RWAP USAID, ia menggarisbawahi bahwa program yang digelar memberi nilai tambah bagi mahasiswa UNNES, lebih siap memasuki jenjang karir masa depannya, khususnya bagi mahasiswa BIDIKMISI. Kapus Karir menambahkan bahwa dengan kolaborasi pelbagai kalangan  dari lingkungan regional maupun internasional, ia bertekad  pusat karir dibawah kepemimpinannya  menjadi center of excellent  di Indonesia.

Staf Ahli Wakil Rektor Bidang 3, Dr Parmin menambahkan, bahwa UNNES sedang membangun System Teknologi Informasi dan komunikasi yang diarahkan untuk menjaring data lulusan selama periode tertentu yang terkait dengan masa tunggu kerja, linieritas kebekerjaan dan sebaran kebekerjaan lulusan pada pelbagai bidang, baik di instansi negeri maupun swasta serta dunia enterprener. 

Parmin berharap bahwa Direktorat Belmawa dapat memberikan dukungan anggaran yang lebih memadai dalam mendukung program tracer study maupun penguatan pusat karir, sehingga program penguatan alumni menjadi best practice yang menjadi rujukan. Turut hadir dalam kesempatan diskusi terbatas tersebut antara lain Kabag Kemahasiswaan, Kasubag bidang 3, serta para Tim Akademik Pusat Karir LP3, tim IT, dan para tutor sebaya/ peer counselor.
