Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) melakukan kerjasama dengan Chung Cheng University (CCU) Taiwan. Hal ini ditandai dengan penandatanganan Minutes of Meeting (MoM) dan diskusi terkait bidang tujuan kerjasama antara kedua pihak pada Jumat (27/10), di Ruang Senat Gedung Dekanat MIPA, Kampus UNNES Sekaran, Semarang.

Pada acara ini, turut hadir Kepala International Office UNNES, Intan Permata Hapsari, MPd, Dr Ratna Dewi Kusumaningtyas, selaku Staf Ahli Bidang Kerja Sama Luar Negeri, beserta staff dan jajaran pejabat dari tiap program studi sebagai perwakilan dari UNNES. Sementara itu, pihak CCU diwakili oleh Professor Gary Shyi, selaku Dean College of Social Science, Prof Marco Lin, dan Prof Victoria Ro.

Selaku pemberi sambutan, Dr Ratna Dewi menyatakan bahwa kerjasama yang akan dilakukan ini berfokus pada bidang Cognitive Science dan Teknologi Informasi. Dari bidang tersebut, ia menambahkan, tawaran kerjasama yang akan dilakukan berupa program pertukaran pelajar, magang internasional, ataupun undangan professor dari CCU untuk menjadi guest lecturer.

Dari pihak CCU, Gary menyatakan bahwa kerjasama yang ditawarkan oleh CCU sendiri terdiri dari beberapa program, yakni pertukaran pelajar, undangan international summer school, dan beasiswa kuliah di CCU.

Perlu diketahui, Chung Cheng University adalah salah satu universitas terbaik Taiwan yang berlokasi di Chiyayi. Universitas ini memiliki 8 fakultas yang terdiri dari 29 jurusan. Terdapat lebih dari 12.000 mahasiswa yang berkuliah di sini, termasuk 652 mahasiswa asing dari berbagai negara di dunia.
