Penulis artikel yang terbukti melakukan plagiasi akan di-black list (dikeluarkan). Tulisan-tulisan selanjutnya tidak akan dipertimbangkan lagi untuk dimuat di Harian Kompas. “Yang paling penting proses, bukan hasil akhir,” ungkap Tonny D Widiastono, Manajer Pendidikan dan Pelatihan (Diklat) Harian Kompas.

Tonny mengemukakan hal itu pada Pelatihan Intensif Penulisan Artikel di Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes), Senin (16/7). Pelatihan yang digelar oleh UPT Pusat Humas Unnes itu akan berlangsung hingga Rabu (18/7) dengan narasumber Tim Diklat Kompas. Pelatihan dibuka oleh Pembantu Rektor Bidang Akademik (PR I) Agus Wahyudin.

Menurutnya, artikel yang layak muat harus asli, bukan plagiasi, bukan saduran, bukan terjemahan, bukan sekadar kompilasi, pun bukan sekadar rangkuman pendapat atau buku orang lain. Artikel juga belum pernah dimuat di media penerbitan lain atau artikel yang sama, dalam waktu bersamaan, juga dikirim ke media lain. “Kasus yang sering terjadi, artikel yang sama dikirim ke banyak media. Seolah ada ‘kebanggaan’ bila artikel yang sama dimuat di banayk media,” katanya.

Dia juga menyebutkan kriteria lain yang bersifat umum, yakni topik yang dibahas aktual, relevan, dan menjadi pembicaraan hangat di masyarakat. Selain itu, substansi yang dibahas menyangkut kepentingan umum, bukan kepentingan komunitas tertentu, mengingat Kompas merupakan media umum. “Artikel juga harus mengandung hal baru yang belum pernah dikemukakan penulis lain, baik informasi, pandangan, pencerahan, pendekatan, saran maupun solusinya. Uraian yang disajikan membuka pemahaman atau pemaknaan baru maupun inspirasi atas masalah atau fenomena di masyarakat,” jelasnya.

Lebih lanjut Tonny mengungkapkan, artikel tidak boleh ditulis berdua atau lebih, kecuali untuk hasil penelitian. “Mengapa? Jangan sampai penulis yang satu menjadi lokomotif bagi penulis lain,” katanya.

Hal lain yang perlu diperhatikan, kata Tonny, penyajian artikel menggunakan bahasa populer atau luwes, mudah dipahami pembaca heterogen dengan latar belakang pendidikan beragam.

Saat membuka pelatihan, PR I mengemukakan, dengan menulis artikel di media massa, dengan tercantumkannya predikat penulis sebagai dosen, mahasiswa, atau tenaga kependidikan Unnes, sesungguhnya penulis itu telah turut menegakkan eksistensi universitas di tengah-tengah masyarakat. “Semoga lewat pelatihan ini akan lahir para penulis yang banyak mewarnai media massa, baik derah, nasional, maupun internasional,” katanya.

  1. wawasan soal rambu2 plagiasi memang penting. perlu diimbangi jg dengan tip dan teknik menulis yg baik dan benar. jgn sampai calon penulis baru justru keder dengan kata “black list” ketika baru mulai menulis. 🙂
