Rektor Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) Prof Dr Fathur Rokhman MHum mewisuda 3.578 mahasiswa dari berbagai program studi selama dua hari, Selasa-Rabu (8-9/10), di auditorium kampus Sekaran.

Adapun rincian mahasiswa yang diwisuda Selasa (8/10), sejumlah 414 mahasiswa berasal dari Program Pascasarjana (PPs), 575 Fakultas Ilmu Pendidikan (FIP), 529 Fakultas Bahasa dan Seni (FBS), serta 328 Fakultas Ilmu Sosial (FIS). Sedangkan 492 mahasiswa berasal dari Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (FMIPA), 243 Fakultas Teknik (FT), 504 Fakultas Ilmu Keolaharagaan (FIK), dan 404 Fakultas Ekonomi (FE) dan 86 Fakultas Hukum (FH) akan diwisuda esok hari, Rabu (9/10).

Dalam sambutannya, Rektor menyatakan kegembiraannya atas keberhasilan dan kesuksesan dalam menyelesaikan studi. “Kesuksesan ini tentulah merupakan sebuah momen bersejarah, sukses tidaknya studi hari ini akan menentukan sebagian besar hidup dan kehidupan di masa mendatang,“ katanya pada wisuda periode II tahun ini.

Unnes, Rektor mengatakan, adalah rumah ilmu. Oleh karena itu sebagai sesama warga rumah ilmu, seluruh pengetahuan, sikap, nilai, ilmu dan filosofi yang diperoleh selama studi dapat diamalkan dan didarmabaktikan. Baik dalam kapasitas sebagai pribadi, profesional, lebih lebih dalam kapasitas seorang ilmuwan.

“Kita mendiami dunia yang terus berubah dan perubahan ada kalanya memicu krisis, disharmoni, dan ketidakpastian. Terhadap semua ini tentu kita tidak bisa tinggal diam, karena masyarakat memang menunggu jawaban dan solusi,” kata Prof Fathur. “Saya percaya bekal yang ditimba dari rumah ilmu Unnes selama ini adalah tiket untuk memimpin perubahan itu.”

Rektor juga memberikan apresiasi kepada wisudawan terbaik. Sejumlah wisudawan menunjukkan capaian yang membanggakan pada periode ini. Taufiq Hidayah yang menempu studi pada Program Program Doktor di PPs mendapatkan IPK 3,93, Eko Sugiarto pada Program Magister (4,00), Edwindha Prafitra Nugraheni dari Program Profesi Konselor (3,83), Winda Listiyani dari Program Sarjana (3,88), dan Sely FitriatunWakhidah dari Program Diploma (3,86).

“Unnes bangga dan bersyukur dengan capaian yang sangat baik ini,” kata Profesor Sosiolinguistik itu.

  1. Tampaknya Unnes perlu mempertimbangkan gelar wisudawan IPK tertinggi, bukan wisudawan terbaik, sebab “terbaik”, sangat kompleks ukurannya, nilai dalam bentuk IPK hanya salah satunya. Wisudawan yang mempunyai prestasi dalam berbagai bidang, walaupun IPK-nya tidak “tertinggi” pantas juga untuk mendapat apresiasi dan tentu membanggakan kita semua. Terima kasih

    Iya, betul kata Pak Romadi. Prestasi itu tidak hanya ukuran akademik. Yang di luar akademik lebih penting sebagai bahan pertimbangan kata “prestasi”.

    Pak dan Bu di atas itu protes karena mungkin IPK nya tidak tinggi gara-gara sibuk mengikuti kegiatan non-akademis. Unnes punya standar penilaian dan definisi sendiri tentang mahasiswa terbaik (dalam hal ini akademis). Saya percaya apa yg dilakukan Unnes itu baik. Dan tentang apresiasi, sudah banyak kok para pejabat kampus (Rektor, Dekan, dll) yang memberikan apresiasi di ajang-ajang yg berbeda.

  4. Menurut saya, tolok ukur wisudawan terbaik ya IPK itu sendiri. Karena apa??? yang dibagikan saat wisuda ya cuma Ijazah dan Transkrip Nilai.
    Apresiasi untuk mahasiswa yang berprestasi sudah ada tempatnya sendiri.
    Jadi jangan ngiri ya, soal predikat wisudawan terbaik.
