Dengan kesuksesan Program Unggulan Professor Goes to School, pada bulan Agustus ini LP3 kembali melaksanakan Program Professor Goes to School (07/08). Bertempat di SMAN 2 Semarang, Professor Goes to School pada kesempatan ini bekerjasama dengan MGMP Bahasa Inggris SMA Kota Semarang dengan narasumber Prof. Dr. Januarius Mujiyanto, M.Hum.

Tema yang dibahas adalah Model Asesmen High Order Thinking Skills untuk diaplikasikan pada pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris di Sekolah Menegah Atas. Selain menyampaikan materi, Narasumber juga berkesempatan untuk membedah buku berjudul How to Assess High-Order Thinking Skills in Your Classroom karangan Susan M. Brookhart bersama para guru peserta kegiatan.

Terjadi diskusi dan tanya jawab yang menarik selama pelaksanaan. Mat Ibnu, M.Pd. selaku ketua MGMP Bahasa Inggris SMA Kota Semarang menyampaikan bahwa kegiatan Professor Goes to School sangat diapresiasi oleh guru-guru karena sangat membantu pengembangan keilmuan para guru, selain juga membantu menemukan problem solving atas permasalahan yang dimiliki oleh para guru dalam praktik mengajar di kelas masing-masing.

Disampaikan juga oleh Mat Ibnu, M.Pd. bahwa kegiatan Professor Goes to School dari LP3 UNNES tidak hanya dilaksanakan pada kesempatan ini, melainkan bertahap sebanyak 3 pertemuan hingga Oktober mendatang. Harapannya, akan ada luaran yang dapat diaplikasikan di kelas sehingga memperbaiki dan meningkatkan mutu pelajaran Bahasa Inggris di SMA.
