Profesionalisme guru merupakan kunci terpenting terwujudnya pendidikan berkualitas, selain kurikulum, sarana prasarana, dan dana. Oleh karena itu, pemerintah harus terus memberi perhatian khusus terhadap peningkatan kualitas guru.

Rektor Unnes Prof Dr Fathur Rokhman MHum menyampaikan hal itu kepada para peserta Pendidikan dan Latihan Profesi Guru (PLPG) Tahap II Blok Rayon Patemon, Kamis (7/8).

Oleh karena itu, profesor sosiolinguistik ini menilai, kesempatan mengikuti PLPG harus dimanfaatkan guru sebaik mungkin untuk meningkatkan profesionalitasnya. Para guru harus menunjukkan perubahan perilaku yang beroreintasi pada prifesionalitas.

“Saat kembali ke sekolah, jadilah guru yang semakin dicintai siswa. Saat kembali ke sekolah, jadilah guru yangbisa jadi tempat bertanya bagi guru lainnya,” kata Prof Fathur.

PLPG Tahap II Blok akan dilaksanakan pada Kamis-Sabtu (7-16/8). Unnes sebagai penyelenggara, menyelenggarakan PLPG di 8 rayon dan diikuti oleh 1143 guru.

PPG Rayon Patemon diikuti oleh 118 guru Taman Kanak-Kanak (TK) dan 67 guru Bahasa Indonesia. Mereka berasal dari sejumlah daerah seperti Tegal, Batang, Pemalang, Brebes, Pekalongan, dan Salatiga.

Selain di Patemon, PLPG yang diselenggarakan Unnes juga dilangsungkan pada saat bersamaan di Balatkop, Balatrans, BKK SUpriyadi, BP Dikjur, Balai Diklat Provinsi, Permata Biru, dan Wina.
