Ketika sampai di wilayah pengabdian, para Sarjana Mendidik di daerah Terluar, Terdepan, dan Tertinggal (SM-3T) hendaknya menikmati segala kondisi dengan penuh keikhlasan dan rasa syukur. Lebih-lebih telah terpilih menjadi sedikit dari sarjana yang bisa mengabdi di daerah tersebut.

Harapan tersebut disampaikan Rektor Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) Prof Sudijono Sastroatmodjo saat memberi pengarahan pada pembukaan Prakondisi Peserta SM-3T, Senin (24/9), di Badan Diklat Provinsi Jawa Tengah, Srondol Semarang. Prakondisi berlangsung 12 hari (24 September – 5 Oktober) dan diikuti 232 peserta. Mereka akan ditempatkan di empat kabupaten, yakni Kabupaten Landak Kalimantan Barat sebanyak 36 orang, Kabupaten Aceh Besar (76), Kabupaten Manggarai (60), dan Kabupaten Ende (60).

“Waktu satu tahun adalah waktu yang pendek. Manfaatkan waktu itu seoptimal mungkin. Jangan malas-malasan, apalagi di sana tidur atau menunggu bulan saja. Kok ora teka-teka yao wektune. Ketika November kok ora Desember, ketika Desember kok ora Januari, dan seterusnya hanya menghitung bulan saja,” kata Rektor.

Ende, Manggarai, Aceh, dan Landak, menurut Rektor, tidak ubahnya Jakarta, Semarang, dan kota besar lainnya. “Ketika  di kota besar berbagai fasilitas ada, bagaimana dengan daerah itu? Maka, mulai dari dunia pendidkanlah daerah itu digerakkan,” kata Prof Sudijono.

Rektor juga mengemukakan, sungguh tepat sikap para peserta di tempat pengabdian tidak pernah menghitung bulan. “Saudara melakukan yang bermanfaat untuk daerah itu, itulah sesungguhnya pengiriman SM-3T, yakni untuk membagi  informasi yang ada di Indonesia tercinta ini.”

Rektor kemudian mengingatkan para peserta sebagai bagian dari dunia pendidikan yang berkesempatan menikmati pendidikan. “Maka, berbagilah. Sebab dengan berbagi itu tidak akan pernah habis. Dengan berbagi kita akan bertambah, akan jadi kaya raya, dan akan menjadi mulia,” katanya dalam pengarahan yang dihadiri Kepala Dinas Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Manggarai Rafael Paseli Ogur, Aspansius Kepala  dinas Pendidikan Kabupaten Landak, Pembantu Rektor I Dr Agus Wahyudin, Pembantu Rektor III Prof Masrukhi, para ketua lembaga, dekan, dan direktur pascasarjana.

Rektor juga mengutip buku Chairul Tanjung si Anak Singkong. “Agar keluar jerat dari kemiskinan,  pendidikan adalah langkah yang harus ditempuh dengan segala daya dan upaya,” katanya seraya menambahkan, tugas SM-3T memang berat tapi mulia.

    Waktu 1 tahun tidak cukup, Sungguh Indonesia di belahan manapun khususnya indonesia paling Barat Aceh Besar sangat membutuhkan Qta Semua, banyak hal yang perlu mendapatkan perhatian, penanganan…. Sangat2 banyak PR di Dunia Pendidikan yang mungkin luput dari perhatian…

    Sekolah d ujung barat indonesia memang parah, tapi saya rasa ujung barat dgn ujung timur indonesia 11, 12 kok.
    Sama sama butuh PENYELAMAT DUNIA PENDIDIKAN.

    Bukan cuma siswa yg bertanya tanya tapi guru dan pegawaipun menyarankan untuk tetap tinggal.

    “ali, tidak ada lagi yang bantu kita, tidak ada lagi yg bisa kita suruh ngetik kalau dong pergi”

    itu sepenggal kata yg akan aku ingat bahwa aku ternyata tidak sia sia ikut SM-3T.
